Hello to you!
It must be the feeling of Spring in the air as I seem to be gravitating to hues of pink here lately. This little creation is made for a challenge being hosted at Catered Crop where the theme is to use rick rack.
I've layered the background with papers from Echo Park and My Mind's Eye. A touch of crackle paint added to the top section to dilute a bit of the vibrant pink. The pre-colored image is from Nicecrane Designs titled Little Girl Magic. She is framed on a double circle and scalloped base with hints of Cotton Candy Stickles and accented with a little floral spray and die cut leaves.
The sentiment, as tiny as it is, was the biggest hurdle as I wanted black paper and white lettering. I have officially determined that I am not a fan of White Craft Ink. It never seemed to dry for me and smeared constantly. Wanting something that would stay put, I decided to stamp my little alphabet stamps into a blob of Tim Holtz Picket Fence crackle paint and stamp onto black cardstock. I love the negative impression it made and it didn't smear!
Here is another little ??? card, cube triangle candy holder thingy. My first attempt at making this and I "followed" the instructions from here. I am going to be honest and say that it's not mathematically proportionate to the measurements of a triangle (by creator error and not the tutorial); however, it does hold candy and that was the goal! I've also used more precolored images from Nicecrane Design's Little Girl Magic and I hope it meets the criteria for a challenge going on at Case Study where the theme is to use the inspiration card image.
Each side follows the main tag's theme of a "For a sweet friend" by incorporating traits of a friend; compassionate, empathetic and sincere.
The base of the triangle has been wood grain embossed, ink stained, sanded, clear powder embossed in sections and then re-stained with white and black acrylic paint in random areas for a tree type appearance. Each side is then depicting a little magic girl in her particular setting and with butterflies.
Below is the image example to follow at Case Study.

Hello Quirks,
Well, is not our dear Ignacio going to be over-working his WOW's this month, he may have to come up with another metaphor, as this exclamation is losing it's emphasis!
I, of course would never describe Pink as stinky! To me it is a happy and sweet colour, the vivid and hot Pinks share the same high energy as Red. They are fun and exciting and are seen as an optimistic colour. Your Flower is delicious, and I love your pleated border. Your card is just wonderful
White Ink is a disappointment I agree Q, are you using the 'Color Box' Frost White brand? This one seems to be the best of a poor bunch.
Your Triangle candy box is so you, and I am reminded of your remarkable 'Xmas milk cartons'.
I love it when you use that wonderful imagination of yours to it's full potential, to most of us it is thinking 'out of the box'; for you it is normalcy!
You produce unique, unmatched and individual work Q.
Just amazing creations.
Better post mine up now!!!!
Smiles:)
Sue

Oh Lisa I just love the versatility you have when making cards. Everyone is so different and fabulous. Love looking at your creations as I just love your style. Hugs
Ps Thanks for the lovely compliment on my latest card. I appreciate it SO much.
Gorgeous work! Those images are so adorable. I love how you've created the black and white sentiment - that is just brilliant!
Hugs, Dawn
Just adorable really like the pink card it just makes you smile its so pretty. Sandy :)
These are both beautiful. The Little Girl Magic images are gorgeous.
Those images really are adorable! So many fun things about your first card. The rick rack trim, the pleated paper, and your ingenious way of stamping your sentiment. I have to tell you, white anything crafty just gives me fits. The Crackle paint is about the only thing I don't have trouble with. Gel pens and especially ink pads drive me crazy. I'm so glad you linked this up at The Catered Crop. I just joined their DT so I hope you'll play often. :-)
Your triangle box might be a bit wonky (according to you) but it looks pretty awesome to me. I really like how you created a different scene on each side. You can send the peanut butter cups in my direction. LOL
Awesome work girl! Hugs! H
yum - York Peppermint Patties. You have been busy and you come up with the most interesting ways to do things. I think that's what an artist really does - experiment. Love visiting you Lisa and I think I might learn a few tricks from you!
Thanks a bunch. Your creations are wonderful!
Sandy

Love the sweetness of this card! The image is so precious and I love the flowers, ricrac, and pleated paper with it! Brilliant idea on the sentiment! White craft ink can be quite temperamental...
I think you need to rename your ??? card cube triangle holder. From now on it should be known as the pyramid of loveliness! Love how each side has it's own little scene and all relate back to the sentiment at the top. Gorgeous!
Thanks for sharing the link w/ me! What an amazing event and such a wonderful young lady. Can't imagine...
Wow, I loved the card and then I saw the triangle project and nearly fell out of my chair. I love, love, love both of your creations. The images are absolutely precious and the coloring is truly terrific. Way to go!!!
