Makin' it homemade

Over at Stamp TV, they have a challenge called Free For All Friday, and the objective for this one is DIY Patterned paper.
If you'd like to check it out you can click the picture below and it will take you right to the link.

To start with, here are the supplies that I chose to make my patterned paper

Stamps are from Kimberly Crick

Steps to creating this background:
1.  On white card stock, VersaMark the butterfly wings
2.  Apply clear embossing powder
3.  Apply with daubers, the light green ink, over entire surface
4.  Apply with darker green ink directly on top of the butterflies
5.  Using a Swiffer dust rag, wipe off the excess inks
6.  Apply a purple ink to the fine print stamp and apply directly over entire surface
(The print will appear to be on top of the wings at this point)
7.  Using the Swiffer rag again, rub off excess and the print will now appear to be below the wings.

Adding some extra bling:
1.  Vintage base of card is made by taking Pale Plum cs and adding the same green inks used in the DP but topping it with the tea stain distressing ink.
2.  Use the edge distress tool for more antique vintage look
3.  Apply tissue paper under the patterned paper on two edges and tear
4.  Stamp the center image from Stampin' Up! Bliss using purple ink
5.  Add pearl accessories and a sheer purple ribbon
6.  Apply the Thinking of You rub on.
(Rub-ons are more difficult to apply to an emboss resisted background, but if you place the rub-on where you want it and hit it with the heat gun for a second, and then rub it in, the image sticks with ease.)

You'll notice on the card the YOU messed up and this is where I decided to use the heat gun for the rest.

Well that's it for now.
Hope you found a little inspiration in this :)

But before I go,
I just wanna know something....

Does anyone else's work space look this way when they're done making just one card???

Or is it just me?

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out Stamp TV's challenge.
