"May the winds of fortune sail you,
May you sail a gentle sea.
May it always be the other guy
who says, 'This drinks on me.' "
Cheers to you my friends!
Here's little JJ March from Bugaboo making her grand appearance for the current open linky party happening over at
I've simply placed a 2" wide strip of shamrock paper to the left of a cream cardstock card and layered a double ribbon to form a line of division. A simple bow of ribbon and yarn was made to add a little flair behind the copic colored JJ. The flourishes were stamped on with a very pale pink and then using Platinum and Lime Green stickles, I've alternated dots along the flourish. These lettered beads were then edged with TH Vintage Photo DI and then hot glued on to the card. DI applied to the edges of card as well.
I think a rather straight forward wish for good cheer if I say so myself.
It has always been tradition in our home to prepare cornbeef and cabbage with new potatoes. The aroma that fills the house is amazing while it slow cooks all day and our pallets begin to salivate in anticipation. The aromas later; however, leave me to wonder why on earth do we insist on doing this every year?
Then there is the routine inspection to make sure everyone is wearing green. Without fail, the minute your feet hit the ground, you had better be prepared. The first one up always gets the best dibs on pinching.
Except for the year that my husband was adamantly unyielding in his certainty that a green dot from a Sharpie pen placed on his hand was sufficient enough to avoid any retaliation from his family. Meanwhile, the kids and myself are standing there looking like a trio of those bright green exotic tree frogs! To this day he stands his ground that it "counted." Nay, I say, NAY!!! I think he just panicked and grabbed the first green thing he saw. Honestly, that's like saying that if you have a piece of spinach stuck in your front teeth that THAT should count too.
I'm putting the vote out there, what say ye?
Anywho....

-pamela :)
Love your coloring with this funny chica! I'm a party pooper like your hubby...I'm going with the vote that of course the green sharpie marker counts as 1) the rule is just wear green 2) nothing in the rule book that excludes a green sharpie marker and 3) I'd even vote for the spinach in the teeth thing and I'd be the one proudly displaying the green spinach over one front tooth all day long just to annoy people:)!!!
Love both cards!!! Your colouring is just great.... 'chears' is really awesome!!!
xxAngela
Lisa your cards do make me smile they are such happy cards . Love them both.
Hugs Elaine
Another smile just crept across my face, love your colored image and I totally agree about hubs "sharpie dot" not counting, no way Jose!
Treefrogs, too funny!!!
Cheers! Love your St. Pats card - she's perfect!
oh hello again Lisa as you pop into my e-mail!! I was around last night and had a good giggle over your card and the second look was just as good too! Love it!
Are you from Irish Stock Quirks?
Wonderful card and she looks absolutely blotto if I say so myself, but then that is what St Pat's day is all about is it not!
Your placement of your image to the side of the card in that wonderful Emerald Green and embellishments looks stunning, and then the eye views your chunky words, it is great Q.
OMG I have vivid memories of Corned beef and cabbage while I was growing up, my Grannie made or I should say overcooked this vegetable into oblivion, I thought cabbage was naturally Grey in colour!
Don't eat it much now for obvious reasons.
Smiles:)
O
I love the way you colored the image and created a fun St. Patty's Day card!
Nope! No Sharpie dots. He should have gotten double pinches for trying that. LOL We don't do the corned beef and cabbage thing so I can't attest to the smell before...or after ;-) LOL
Your card is fantastic Lisa! Those wooden letter beads look so cool on there and you've colored JJ perfectly. Great composition of elements too chick! Hugs! :-)
Lisa, I love your sweet St. Pat's card. Looks like she's going to enjoy her green beer. :)
Hugz,
Cathy Lee
Ms JJ looks like quite the party girl and definitely wearing more green than a sharpie dot!! Love the sparkly swirls, and using the beads for your sentiment is such an original touch!
I have to admit to getting a little queasy looking at her green beer... Only tried it once and it was not a good thing... Find me a nice green wine and we'll talk!
As much as I respect your DH and think he is just wonderful, he's WRONG!! I have to agree that a skimpy little sharpie dot does not get it when the wearing o' the green is involved! Your dinner sounds so yummy! Let me know what time to be there!
Love your St Patrick's day card, great image and I love the verse at the start of your post...Such a fun pick of the week card, great choice...
Mandy x
I just love how you put the ribbon behind her. Great image too :)
This is such a fun card hun, lovely verse..Who ever receives your cards must have a smile on there face all day long he!he! I do when I've been for a visit!! I do think your hubby was very clever in thinking so quickly, so does deserve some brownie points (sorry scout points!!) I would love to see a photo of these exotic tree frogs...are they a new species lol!!
Biggest hugs...
Marjorie
