Adorable Bessie For Nicecrane Designs

Just a couple of cards I'd like to show you that use two touching images from
 Here's a glimpse inside
 And another
This card was guided by a couple challenges.
One being the photo inspiration below and the other to use banners and bunting.
I hope you enjoy my interpretation of both.
The photo inspired me with the concept of flight. When something leaves, you miss it.  The colors were also so vibrant and required here. The tail feathers resembled a crown to me.
The banner challenge was fun as well.
I've included a paper banner and two banners I've crocheted in white.
Here's a preview of the images available from
Thanks for stopping in. If you like the images, you can find them here at
Have a great one!

I totally agree with Jeanne. These are stunning and I love how you interpreted the challenge. I would never have thought of a crown but you really brought out some great aspects and I learn something new everytime I visit here. :-)

Absolutely fabulous pieces, as always, Lisa. I really love the one you submitted for F&F. So much gorgeous texture and dimension. Little Bessie on her chair just pops right out and I love the tie in with the crown/tail feathers - very cool. Really beautiful colors and a terrific match with the inspiration photo. So happy to have you joining our challenge again this week at Frilly and Funkie!

Hugs,
Linda

I would never have thought of using theses images in the way you have Quirks.
I think I have purported this before, and I think I have also stated that you have exceptional powers of imagination; a natural ability for you. But to many, it is oh so foreign!
Bessie is indeed adorable, and you have captured the feeling of sadness perfectly, the elements of the crochet pieces and crown not only add interest, but a tactile quality as well. The unique way you interpreted the Photo; where as most would lock on to the vibrancy of the colour palette you have seen flight and then again extended this to leaving......
It is just as well you gave an explanation, as most would not have seen it as you do. A wonderful creative piece, and I love the idea and the symbolism you have put into it.
Smiles:)

Just have to say again how much I love that creative brain of yours...
The cards on their own are gorgeous creations using such a wonderfully eclectic mix of goodies, but following your thought patterns from the inspiration photo to the completed card was lovely! I love the little bingo markers and the crown!
Saw some sculpy clay at Wal-Mart and thought of you... Didn't buy any-yet...I think I'll stick with play doh for now :)
