A Hero In Their Eyes...

A Soldier by his calling,
Loving husband to his wife.
But to those that call him Daddy,
A hero in their eyes.
Stars and Stripes and or Independence Day is the theme for our current challenge at
Top Tip Tuesday and this is my card using three seperate silhouette images surrounded by an Americana feel. Each strip has been wood folder embossed, lightly covered with gesso, acrylic painted, UTEE embossed, crumpled and then vintage stained for distressing.
A very simple background that allows the images to tell the story.
We have had the best time seeing all the outstanding entries from our last challenge and we certainly hope you can join us this time and show us your take on Independence Day and/or Stars and Stripes!
 Sponsors for our challenge are:
Prize: 3 packs of die cuts (WOW!)
Prize: 7 digital images of their choice!

A very kind welcome to my latest followers and a sincere thank you for your always kind and conciderate and motivational comments.
I hope this finds you all well!
Hugs n' Happy Stamping...
Lisa xx

Hi Quirks
The effect of this card when one looks at it is heart-breaking, one can read so much into it by your images, there is no need for me to sit here an give an explanation, as what I am seeing everyone can understand, and some sadly will relate to; there is no need for words.
It carries such an undertone of death and fear, by your use of the colour Black on your silhouette images; the symbolism is very compelling..
An amazing piece.

OK, having trouble finding the words to comment on this one... beautiful and touching doesn't quite seem to cover it, but I don't know how else to say that your choice of images is so perfect for the quote and theme of the challenge. The background is fabulous, yet understated enough in color to allow the silhouettes to stand out. Definitely a work from your heart! Hugs to you!!

This made my heart hurt! Sounds strange to say, but your card is gorgeous and haunting. What powerful emotion it provokes. So smart of you to combine the three silhouettes and then the surrounding pieces so subtley and perfectly accent them. Fabulous!

Wow Lisa! What a striking card. The image says so much - a beautiful tribute to our troop and all they do for us! A great reminder of the sacrifice they make every day.

Lisa - this is a most emotional card and you have done a splendid job with it. How in the world did you learn how do do all this? We have a small cabin on our property and we have a wounded warrior moving into to it with his wife and son. No rent - we are extremely grateful for his service in the Marines. He served two tours of duty on the front lines in Iraqi. We really do like he and his wife. I am most impressed with out military and owe them so very much. Your card is very moving!

WOW! This is so loaded with texture! I'm curious how the crumpling turned out. You said you added everything down to the UTEE before crumpling but it sure doesn't look like the it broke the UTEE to badly. It's perfect! Hats off to your hubby and our other brave hearts! Hugs!
