Hello, Friend...

Welcome back to a glorious day here in blogland!
Visiting other crafty people in cyberspace is much more suitable for me than sweating my, you know what off, outside.  It's still miserable!  So, I figure, if I can't wear jeans, why not cut them up and make a card!  It didn't exactly go down like that, but close enough AND in the nick of time because today our tantalizing and talented Paula McClane is hosting again this week at
and she's tasked us with the challenge of a...
RECIPE
(1) Denim (2) 3 of Ribbon or Twine and (3) 3 of Buttons or Brads
I've opted to use denim, buttons and twine.
I had some carefree fun on this one and played around with clear and opaque embossing powders, a quirky corner Bird Collage stamp from Hampton Art, off the beaten path stitching on the sewing machine, My Mind's Eye DP, moss, denim handmade loops, and toothpick hairpins with pearls and crystals from SU! Pretties Kit.  The little bird and tag are the final details to pull it all together and they are both from SU! Punch Potpourri and Little Friends stamp sets.

I won't keep you any longer because I know you're probably chompin' at the bit to get a hold of that denim and create something sensational for our challenge, but if you need an overload of outstanding ideas, by all means, stop by Our Creative Corner and take a look at the entire team's exceptional projects.  I promise you won't be disappointed!
Thanks so much for stopping in and be sure to grab some flippers, snorkel, and sunscreen on your way out.  Follow the sound of laughter, I'm having a pool party out back!!
Here's to cooler days and crafty RECIPE cards.
Smiles,
Lisa xx

Hello Q
You are the wise one, I cut my jeans UP!!!!!
I am crazy about this creation you have made for this Challenge using the Denim, not just a piddly bit like me, you have been far more innovative; your embossed look alike ribbon and the stitched Bg, along with the nest is texture overload, and for me that is like ice-cream on a Hot day..... not that you want to be reminded on how Hot it is by the sounds of things. The little bird is an unexpected addition along with the pearl pins, I keep wanting to look at it Q. You have made a lovely piece here.

Love this card L2! The stamping on denim is awesome and I've been collecting old jeans ever since I visited Donna Salazar's site. She is a denim queen so check her out. This is really outstanding and those dots are calling my name. I'm gonna have to find some time to try this. Beautiful card that reflects your ingenuity!!
I certainly hope it cools down soon but a pool party, I'd love to come...be right over. Taco dip anyone??? :D
Hugs,
L1

This is amazing Twang! I'm not surprised though. A country girl know her way around denim. :-) Each and every part is fun and inventive and that cute birdie is just icing on the cake. Hugs! H

I'm crazy about this card, Lisa. I'm dying to pick it up and closely examine it. Grrr, sometimes photos just don't do it and this is one of those times. So many delicious details. To start with, that embossed tag has me fascinated. And the embossing on the denim - holy moly I never thought of that and now MUST try it! You are a genius, as usual, and totally rocked this challenge!

Hope you are having a cooler week this week. On the weather yesterday it looked like some of the heat wave was breaking out your way.

Hugs,
Linda

Oh I love this! Denim is my favorite material - always casual comfortable. But on this it looks so fancy and fussy! Love the ruffled strip with the twine (which again says casual right?) But it looks so darn extravagant Lisa!! Wow! Just stunning!
