"Norman!!!!"

Welcome again to another month long challenge at Heck Of a Challenge, where the theme is...
SPOOK IT UP!  The DT are kicking off the month of October with some amazingly ghoulish projects to inspire, so be sure to check them out.  Here is my contribution to the Halloween season.  The very first scary movie I ever watched (Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for letting me stay up and watch this!) when I was young was Psycho.  Here is my rendition of the movie, all on a little birdhouse.  Hope you enjoy it!

The birdhouse in its original form.

Shipping tags I've cut to make rickety shingles.

After applying shingles and painting with black and white acrylics and hot glue strings for webbing.

Branch from a bush outside and some store bought moss to design a decaying old tree.

Sculpey again...LOVE this stuff!

Using my stylus, this cute little trio comes to life.

An old rusted stake I found in the yard to help build my ladder.

Here's "Mother"

Painted orange with a copic and detailed with a tooth pick and acrylic paints...here's the cute pumpkins.  Poor scared pumpkin on the right is eyeing the recent addition to the yard, the lovely tombstone.

Here's Norman having a conversation with his mother as he climbs the ladder to the "motel".  Notice he even comes complete with his own knife.

Added another movie reference from Poltergeist to the doormat.  Remember the little psychic lady with the groovy voice? "All are welcome"

Side view and notice the door to the motel is open?

There's "Mother" again.  She is mounted on a battery operated candle that shines through the crepe paper at night and is seen through the door. Creepy!!

That's it for me on this post, but I do hope I've inspired your senses and you're encouraged to come and join us at Heck Of a Challenge.
Have a terrific one and remember, if you're ever out on a lonely abandoned highway at night and you see the dilapidated old motel with the half-lit neon sign flashing "vacancy"...keep on driving!

I just cannot get over how very talented you are and how you turn out all these project and cards. Lisa -- I mean it. You are so sweet to tell us how you did all this put consider writing your own book of projects with instructions. The craft scene is so big and I honestly believe you have real winners here. I love this. I can still see Janet Leigh in the shower getting stabbed to death. Was afraid to take a shower for months after that. What great grandparents you have!!!~

Holy crap!! Pure evil genius going on here!! I could go on for days about every detail and how much I LOVE the fact that 'mother' lights up!!!!!! But what really caught my eye was the sign and how it really looks like vintage neon!! I'm just glad you didn't add a shower or a corn field (Children of the Corn...) or I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight! You are so awesome! Can I be you when I grow up????
