You're Invited...

I would absolutely love to get everyone I've met here in blog land together for a massive BBQ and crafting weekend. Wouldn't that just be a hoot!  I honestly doubt we'd get much crafting done, but oh the laughs and memories.  The thought came to me while making this card for our current challenge at Our Creative Corner, hosted by the very talented master of all papers, Meihsia.  She has decided the super cool theme for this week as SIMPLE and CLEAN KITCHEN.  The oxymoron there, nothing is ever done simply in my kitchen and when it's finally done, it's never clean!  However, the challenge IS so much fun!  Meihsia asks that you use something on your card that you'd find in your kitchen.  I picked a knife, fork, spoon and napkin.
It may not look like the traditional CAS card, but I did research, yes...I have that much trouble with CAS cards, and found that as long as the focal point is the only thing on a card and nothing else to distract from it, it qualifies as CAS. So, I researched some more on fancy folded napkins and couldn't get the two sheets of paper to look anything like what I'd seen, so I just began folding and folding and refolding until I came up with this design.  Punched a brad through the center to hold it, added some tulle and pearls and a little menu tag, stuck it to a Top Note Die card and viola done. OOPS! Forgot the silverware.  Back to The Graphics Fairy I went and now it's complete.

So, what's in your kitchen??
We would love to see your creative take on the culinary tools and if you need more inspiration, please check out the wonderful creations of my teammates at
Clean and Simple Kitchen!

Hope you have a great one,
hugs,
Lisa xx

I see that you are using the silver that you bought from the five and dime store. I love that old tarnished stuff. Didn't anyone ever tell you that a little silver polish never hurt anyone? I also noticed that you have kept your menu well hidden. Leads one to wonder....... I would imagine anything with you Lisa would be a real hoot!!!!! I love the netting idea you have used here. Now that's my idea of a napkin!! Love your artwork sugar. (see I can be sweet)

hee hee Can you remember how you got to that fold? :-) It looks amazing. maybe you should get a job with one of those fancy hotels that fold your towels into animals. This is so imaginative. I'm glad someone finally figured out what CAS is. LOL Awesome project Twang! Hugs!

First of all what a cool challenge idea and second you totally knocked it out of the ballpark, again. ;) This is fantastic and hooray for The Graphics Fairy lol, she saved the day. Honestly this is the coolest CAS card I've ever seen. :-) I {heart} those BE MINE papers from Echo Park.
Hope you have a wonderful week L2!

I think that you should market these Lisa. What a fabulous idea you have here and I could see this taking off at weddings/graduations/birthdays every occasion you can think of.

It would be so fab to have a crafting weekend and BBQ..........you've got to dream bf !!!!

So glad you liked my blog but it was the fabulous susie jefferson who created the blog, using my crafty makes and a header I designed and then she added too. you can find Susie by scrolling to the bottom of my blog and clicking on the 1st floor flat link.

Tried to email you but couldn't for some strange reason. Have a great Sunday.

LOVE, repeat...LOVE that you went online and did research to justify your absolutely stunning card as CAS!!! You should be an attorney!
This is so elegant, and even if you can never recreate it, I love the folded napkin! I'm thinking your BBQ will have to be a black tie affair if you use this gorgeous card as an invite or place card!! Formal wear and saucy BBQ ribs... sounds like a fabulous combination for fun!!

I will totally come to your crafting BBQ! I hope there will be a display of your amazing stuff. I have learned that it might be pretty amazing on my computer screen but in real life, my socks fall off. I suspect this card would make my sock fall off and eye balls fall out!

Totally drop dead amazing. LOVE the vintage goodness of this piece, Lisa. Such a trick to make a vintage inspired CAS. Your folded napkin and silverware absolutely ROCK and that piece of tulle is the perfect accent. Love the color palette too!

No, Thanksgiving can't be at my house - everything will be boxed up as the movers are tentatively scheduled for 11/26 - EEEEKKKK!!!!! How 'bout we do it at your place???

Hugs,
Linda

Wow Lisa, you always amaze me with your creations. Beautiful CAS and vintage at the same time project! I love the idea of getting together for a massive BBW, wouldn't that be awesome? You know that I thought of that a couple of times, so maybe someday we can make it.
