Got Shabby?

Hello to you!
Welcome back again to my little crafty spot in the world.
Today I've got a crazy project for you that is inspired by the current challenge over at Our Creative Corner where Sharon is hosting this weeks theme of
SHABBY CHIC!
I've taken several pictures to explain the process.

VERY IMPORTANT STEP here...
At this point, make sure you have an entire box of nicely organized hardware sitting just at the edge of your desk. With your elbow, ever so skillfully, shove that sucker right off onto the floor and watch as 200+ pieces scatter across the floor and into your carpet!
Then proceed...

Thank you again Mitra....LOVING those Scrabble pieces :)

And there you have it.  A very inexpensive, Shabby Chic holder that hangs on the wall to inspire you.
Hope you've enjoyed your visit and please check out the incredible creations from my teammates at Our Creative Corner and see the excellent definition of Shabby Chic as described by our host, Sharon.
Hugs n' Happy Crafting,
Lisa xx

Well minus the 200 pieces on the floor this project turned out amazingly!

Lisa, WOW! and BRAVO!
first, I have to say, that only one photo really doesn't do justice for this work of art and inspiration. Second, thank you for all the photos and details on how we too can create this! and third, love your little antics! (I hope you found all 200 pieces in the carpet!)
Now, where to begin? the amount of detail and hidden surprises are numerous! I've never distressed a scrabble tile, but you make me want to! and the boxes peeking outside the boundries of the shadow box are fabulously creative! I love how you layered the birds to give them depth, and the little trickets and treasures through out is the example of 'attention to detail'. I think I'll swing by the dollar store while I'm in town today, and I'll need to grab another bottle of gesso, while I'm out!
I am positive that our followers will truly be inspired by your project! Just gorgeous and truly inspirational!
have a great week, hugs, sharon w.

Hello Q,
How innovative of you to make a shadow box for a shabby chic theme, you must have enjoyed making this as there is quite a bit of work and detail involved. All your added embellishments, from the Scrabble pieces to the birds to the thimble and flower, and I can see light bulb there as well!
A shabby chic creation with a bit of quirkiness=Perfection.
Smiles :-)

Well Lisa, I am amazed, but here I sit with 6 boxes similar to this one and not one idea what I should do with them. I just needed to wait for you to create something fabulous! This will be on my list of things to do "shortly" thanks for the great ideas!

What a spectacularly gorgeous and oh so wonderfully creative project! Love all of the amazing detail in this design and oh girl I'm the same with the elbows and hands and anything else. And then what's worse is when I knock stuff off the table, I can never find whatever it is I knocked off...even if it's a whole container of something!!

Wow!! You went all out on this one and I love the step by step with pictures! You should have included a pic of the spilled hardware so we know what that should look like!!
There are so many wonderful things to see, even on the sides, and I LOVE that you used the tiles to spell CREATE at the top. It encompasses all of the steps and fun that you must have had making this! Thanks so much for joining us this week at Anything But a Card!!

BTW- when I saw you had linked up, I was curious what your 'wings' would be :)
