Oh my goodness...I'm finally back to blogging and I couldn't be happier!
I can't believe how difficult it was to get back into the groove and despite the fact that I was so excited to get moved, unpacked and settled in to the new craft room, my gosh...I felt lost.
I couldn't remember where I put anything, forgot to set up a place for my cutter machine to connect to the computer, chair won't slide on the carpet, so I nearly broke my neck when the damn thing flipped backwards, but I'm getting the hang and it can only get better from here...right???
However, despite my near paralysis I couldn't wait to get started on my third year of participating in the 12 Tags of Christmas that Linda Coughlin hosts through her blog and store, The Funkie Junkie and
What I found inspiring on her tag was the obvious snowy pattern and the little heart and bow accompaniment and the chalkboard appeal.
The texture of my bauble was created by folder embossing metal tape and layering it on the ornament. (Thank you Mitra for introducing me to that fabulous and versatile tape!)
I drew inspiration from the grayish-blue hue in the background, the mesh underneath her stars, the stars themselves, the deer and the trees.
Bauble #3
Comparing side by side, Linda's gorgeous tag 3 with my rendition.
I drew inspiration from Linda's tag with her use of the golden stars, the three Wise Men that are on their journey and the very faint exposure of musical scores in the background. I picked up from Linda's tag as the Wise Men were journeying and my bauble shows their arrival and presenting the Baby Lord Jesus with their offerings.
Bauble #4
Linda's sensational tag 4 and my rendition.
I drew inspiration from the burlap squares, the gingham bows and the greenish-blue color as well as the metal embellishments and snowy white flickers of paint.
It's become a tradition with me to participate in this event and if you'd like to see my first year's makes, click here and second year, click here.
I'm so late getting started, but I will hurry to finish the entire 12 by the deadline!!
Thank you again Linda for the inspiration and holiday cheer :)
I'm so happy you stopped in and I hope you've enjoyed your visit.
Biggest of hugs to you and happy crafting...
Lisa x

Hello Q
God how I can relate to the chair not sliding on the carpet!!!!!My cutter is still not connected to the computer but in time, I say to myself.Mmmm
Anyway enough about the cons of moving a craft room and trying to put it back together again.
Taking inspiration from the Tags and relating them to Decoration baubles is a fantastic idea and very individual, but of course I expected nothing less from you and I am so very happy to have you back blogging.
All the Baubles are gorgeous and they must look lovely on your tree, I love how you interpret your inspiration and take it to another level.Great work.
Smiles:)

Absolutely stunning variations on Linda's tag themes, Lisa - wow, you've done it again!! Fabulous stuff, and your Fisher Price Nativity has put an even bigger smile of pure pleasure on my face...
Know exactly what you mean about craft space teething troubles. It still takes me twice as long to create something because I can't remember where things are in the new set up... grrr! Good luck with settling in... and I can't wait to see some more Funkie Baubles!!

DUDE! Welcome back to blogland!
I recall how hard my first scrapbook page was after we moved oh man! It was like something had hidden away and I had to coax that creativity back out!
I'm posting my container for my tags tomorrow. You are a bit ahead of me! Mine are um....making me a bit crazy!
LOVE LOVE LOVE how you used that tap and how super cool those bulbs are turning out! SUPER AMAZING! And your little fisher price, OMG, so cute!
Woohoo, welcome back, Lisa, to the 12 Tags of Christmas Funkie junkie Style. So glad to have you back for the third year - I think you might be the only one. Wonderful that you are moved in and getting settled. I empathize with you - we moved in on December 22nd last year. Have fun getting settled - you will work the kinks out.
Your ornaments are absolutely amazing. I always love how you make a series of projects and these are sensational. Thank you for making the 12 tags challenge the first one you played in after your return to crafting!

Linda
I can just see you flipping over in the chair! lol Fish out of water. Well the baubles are fabulous, I love them. See your amazing creativity is not on vacation anymore! So glad you are back with us all!
Hugs and Merry Christmas,

It's great to see some of your work again! I'm so impressed by what you're able to create. These plain baubles have been transferred into some beautiful looking works of art!
1. Your baubles are fabulous -- I do like everyone!
2. You know at places like Staples or Office Depot - you can get these big plastic mats to go under your chair so you can roll on the carpet.
They are an excellent size and work very well on carpet.
3. My kids loved their Fisher Price and your barn and critters bring back such memories. Smart Mother you have there Lisa!!
Merry Christmas Sugar

Welcome back L2!!! So happy to see you in blogland again and you gave me the biggest chuckle. I can see you in your chair......too funny! (Seriously, glad you are okay) You need one of those plastic grip pads they sell at Staples or Office Depot so your chair will roll and not pitch you. Maybe Santa will bring you one since you've been a good girl. ;)
Love those baubles chica! You totally took Linda's tags and brought it to a new level as she said. Can't wait to see the last four, I've already seen 5-8 and their gorgeous too.
Have a merry 'ole day,
L1 xoxo
How you turned plain old round glass ornaments into these works of art is beyond me. I'd love to see one step by step (as if that would help me make one! HA!) You amaze me! And your Fisher Price nativity? Very cool - who knew that one day it would bring back so many happy memories?
You surely will have the most amazing tree this year with all your baubles on. I stand in awe of your creativity Lisa. Hope you have the best Christmas ever. Jenny x
