You could blindfold me and have an expert take hold of my hands and create a shabby chic card and it STILL wouldn't turn out right. I don't know how to describe what I've created here, but the theme, or what I was hoping to achieve, was vintage shabby chic. Are there some elements there to qualify? Yep. Does it look appealing? Ummmm, maybe it's just me, but I think it looks confused. Maybe that's the randomness of the arrows I decided to place; which were symbolic of progressing from birth on, as this is a birthday card for a very special friend of mine who prevails in this genre.
Thanks to Ignacio at Nicecrane Designs, I was able to color this precious little baby girl using his images from Your Magical Name II.
Well, I'm pretty pleased with the results, even though my brain can't quite figure out how to naturally design like that, so I hope it's not too confusing for you all to look at too. However, the image is sensational and that was my saving grace! All the elements you see here were also cut on the Silhouette Cameo.
Thank you so much for your visit and I hope you're doing well and finding plenty of time to craft!
Hugs,
Lisa x

DUDE!
I am always hoping I learn how to color in images like that...LOVE LOVE LOVE them, but they scare me to bits! I really love what you have created! It's Lisa Shabby and adorable as always!
Hi Quirks
Hope you had a great Christmas Day.
Gosh I am so impressed with this card, I know you believe you struggle with Shabby Chic/Vintage, and your post confirms that you lack some confidence within this genre, but my opinion of your design is definitely Vintage, it has a beautiful classic appeal. Ignacio's image sets the mood immediately and juxtaposes so well with all your additional elements...including the Arrows! The colour palette is perfect. Please do not underestimate your talent in this genre;Vintage cards are very hard to create, as you have to relate the feel of the era, it is not sufficient to just place an old image, you have to extend from this in the design to produce the quality of the past;you have done this perfectly.
Smiles:)

I think its fabulous Lisa! Gorgeous and very eye appealing!
See I like this quirky style! Really, the card looks fabulous and gorgeous as well. Love the design, even the arrows. I totally love the way you colored the images, I can hardly wait to see the vintage item you create with the other girl. Your design helps pop the image as your coloring is amazing and then complimented perfectly. Looking forward to more Vintage, your style! I love it!
Happy New Year,
Kelly
I think you do shabby just fine. ;) Lovely image and layers on this card and I know it puts a smile on Ignacio's face.
Hope 2014 is a bright and wonderful year for you and your family! Hugs
There's nothing confusing about this card, it's a gorgeous vintage creation! I like how you ripped the paper at the top and used corrugated paper behind it. It's such a beautiful image to!
I think this is wonderful! There are so many lovely details and the corrugated piece looks fantastic!
I always have a hard time inking things just the right amount to get a shabby chic look... It either ends up too clean or just messy!
Shabby baby gorgeousness! Oh the layers on fabulous paper, dies, and ink. Love this! So much to see and enjoy! Happy happy new year to you!
