It's true...bare as bare can be, but it's not me that's nakie, but my Christmas tree!
I know, I know...I'm those people you see in March that can't stand to take it down.
I love the concept of bringing nature inside and those soft twinkly warm lights that fill the room with a glow just make me so happy, SO...I've justified keeping it up by altering it for several holidays.
However, I've stripped it down to nothing but its lights and now it's time to dress it up a bit with some lovin'...literally. I've decided to showcase 8 ornaments that I'll hand make for Valentine's Day as an offering of inspiration.
#1 Vintage Crochet Heart Ornament
Using the Cameo Silhouette Cutting Machine, I cut out 12 white cardstock hearts and 6 designer paper hearts and layered 2 white with 1 designer for thickness.
Ink the edges with Old Paper DI, inked the hand made leaves and crocheted 6 twine hearts.
Applied a small section of lace, hand rolled rose and a few buttons for decoration.
Here you can see what the hearts looked like
before I attached tulle and glued them to a crocheted heart.
All together in one happy group.
I promise to take pictures of them on the tree as I go along AND I'll return to bring you 7 more ornament ideas for Valentine's Day for the TREE!
I thank you so much for stopping in to visit. You have no idea how happy you make me :)
Hugs n' Happy Inking...

Well naked your tree may be - but adding this gorgeous creation, it will look amazing! See, you are at it again with thinking out of the box and this is truly beautiful. My living room is truly naked though, as I took all the decs down and the tree is put away until next year. Happy Hump Day.
Wow, such a lovely romantic statement. I loathe taking down the tree, too...It gets so dark and bleak afterwards!
Hello Lisa!! Long time, no see - hope life is treating you well sweet thing!

Hugs Shirley-Anne
What beautiful hearts Lisa. I know your tree looks smashing. I am one of those nuts who loves my Christmas tree so much I leave it up all year long. It's a folk art tree full of Santas and old glass ornaments. Everything is red and green. There are many nights when I turn the lights on. Makes my heart smile and I know you gorgeous hearts make your heart smile too!

Your ability to turn bits and bobs into to beautiful projects is impressive, as is your talent for catchy titles - lol.

I am bowing down to your brilliance right now and will SO do this next year when I get all sad about taking down the Christmas decorations! Your Valentines decor is so pretty and romantic! Love that you added the crocheting!
Lisa, Just like everything, they come and they go... so sad. Time goes by way to fast before we know it Christmas will be here. On to Valentines looks like a good start with all the hearts!

They are just enchanting, Lisa - oh, my word!! Please, please say there'll be pictures of the decorated tree once it's done!
I couldn't agree more about the lights and decoration. If there was ever a time that needed brightening with a bit of colour and light, it's grim grey Jan/Feb - very tempted to copy you!!
