Let There Be Hope, Light, Love and Understanding....

For those we love....
When I saw this image below, it clearly spoke to me and I wanted to CASE the idea onto a canvas.  Thank you to the fabulous artist who created this image and gave me inspiration.
I started by making my own canvas with paper and then covering it with a piece of material that I cut from a table cloth, purchased at the Dollar Store. I'll probably have enough material to make 40 more canvases, at least. Very inexpensive and handy!
The focal point of the entire canvas is this tiny purple ribbon.  See how the pixie dust falls from it, and far beneath, in the depths of the darkness, there grows two purple flowers.  Simon Says Wednesday challenge is all about Tie It Up and I felt this worked perfectly.
I wanted to add this canvas to several other challenges as well and Frilly and Funkie are all about Things With Wings.  My original wings were very colorful and that didn't fit the color scheme, so I painted over them with yellow and then highlighted with copics in oranges.  The veins were then hand drawn and added to the Silhouette fairy.
This close up is to show that I tried to capture the texture and feeling from the mood board at Anything But Cute where their theme is Making Magic, and certainly wouldn't finding a cure be magical!
For those researching, hoping, praying and giving....

I would like for this text to apply to the challenge at Mixed Media Monthly for the theme of Get Texty.

Again, the final canvas.

Thank you so much for your visit.
Your time and words are appreciated more than you can know.
Biggest of hugs and happy crafting to you,
Lisa xx

Oh my gosh L2...don't know where to start. I love this canvas for many reasons and I have to say that your CASE of the original is spectacular. The purple ribbon has special meaning to me as my mom is still living with Alzheimer's and I lost my MIL to this disease. You have such a way of getting to the heart of things. I absolutely think this is my favorite project ever (that's saying a lot bc you such a creative genius)!!! So glad you shared this. :) xx

But this one just touches my heart. I am not normally a fantasy type person either! The texture, the colors, the ribbon, the setting - it's PERFECT. j.

Lisa, I applaud you for making a canvas dedicated to and for supporting such a worthy cause. My Dad died from complications of Alzheimer's disease, so it is near and dear to my heart. Wouldn't it be magical if a cure were discovered?! Yes! As for your canvas, it is magical! You have done a wonderful job of creating your take on the original artwork and making it your own. I love the trees and the forest floor you created to showcase your little fairy holding the purple ribbon. Thank you for joining our Making Magic challenge at Anything But Cute. Hugs! Sara Emily DT

Geesh! Now she's a canvas maker too. You don't even need to go to the craft store do ya? No surprise, with a name like Twang it's just common sense that you can make something out of anything. Us hillbillies and hicks are nothing if not resourceful. LOL Awesome project T!

Oh dearie, you have captured my attention and provided me with such a feeling: HOPE. Art invokes a feeling and this glorious piece of brilliance has totally done that. Gorgeous use of the moss and your wings are superbly fashioned. I love the stark contrast of the black against the purples and Orange. Wowzers on so many levels Lisa! My hat is off to you! Thank you.

So happy you joined our Making Magic challenge at Anything But Cute! Hugz! ~Niki DT
