"Spool-tide" Greetings....

If Mother Nature can be fickle and blatantly indecisive, then I figure so can my crafting!  Which is why last week I had the best time with Inner tube Birdbrain here and now this week, I'm loving Candy Cane for Snowman.   Yesterday was blistering and humid and today is cool and rainy; but it matters not because inside my craftroom, it looks like Christmas!

I wanted to make a shaker that was mounted on a straw that stood within a spool, but I had no spools. Sure, I could have run to the corner flea market, but thought it would be fun to make my own from paper.
A few other shapes I cut on my Silhouette and either glittered, distressed or colored them.
And here's my completed project for From The Heart's Digital Stamp of the Month Challenge for August.
Thanks so much for the visit and big hugs to you all!
I'm off to fry some pickles...yum!!

While the rest of us were driving to the flea market to get that spool you made your own, of course you did, and finished your project. the rest of us are too tired to make our project because we spent too much time at the flea market and came home with a pile of stuff that we have no idea why we bought it. Fabulously, cute. What a great centerpiece for Christmas.

Hello Q,
Goodness me this is one out of the box, most wold create a card with this image, but you have done your quirky thing and created a decoration that is a real eye catcher and will look amazing anywhere in the home. I am thinking that I would like to make one for Scarlett, not with a Snowman though as it is Summer for us at Christmas time.....Santa would work. I am inspired as usual with not only your amazing imagination but the ability to create from it.
Smiles:)

Hey Pretty Lady! This is a really neat project. It reminds me of the shakers one would use at Mardi Gras -- As a child we had these toys that you pushed up on a metal thing that would make the wheel on top go round and round and send off a few sparks. That's what this shaker reminds me of!!

I think your homemade spool looks better than anything you would have found at the flea market. Love the concept of popping the main image up on the straw. Lots of fun! But what else would it be coming from your brain. :-)

So many beautiful embellishments. As always, every time I look I see something new and I think that is what delights me so much here. There is always something waiting to be seen .. waiting to be discovered. Of course you made your own spool. You're a crafty genius! Love how your mind works Lisa!

Yet another brilliant and inspired creation! The snowman shaker is so glittery and cute, and the straw into the fantastic hand made spool is gorgeous! I love the idea of make-your-own spools, especially in any size you might need! Thanks for inspiring me yet again!
