Visions of Sugarplums Day 3

Welcome back to the final day of Visions of Sugarplums hosted by the ever fabulous Lori Hairston from Chouxchoux Paper Art.  We have been having a fabulous time here for the past couple of days and the talented people, spectacular sponsors, challenges, giveaways and a heaping helping of inspiration haven't slowed down one bit!  So let's get started on our final day!

So where do the reindeer and Gingerbread couple dwell?
Here in their little gingerbread home.
I purchased foam board from the Dollar Store and cut out these dimensions to build the house.
4 pieces @ 4 x 5 1/2" (2 for the tall sides of house & 2 for the roof)
2 pieces @ 4 x 4" (these are for the short sides of the house)
1 piece @ approx. 9 1/2" x 10 1/2" for the base

The silhouette Cameo was lovely enough to cut out house elements such as windows, doors, shutters, and a fence.
A pretty selection of truly vintage wrapping paper from my grandmother's friend, Arlone and some gorgeous gingham paper napkins will be the substrate of the exterior.
Mod Podge was all that was used to apply the gingham and the exterior elements.
The roof was covered in this wrapping paper (flipped inside out paper) for the Gingerbread-ish look.
A fireplace was decorated with a dictionary page depicting definitions of gingerbread, gingerly, gingersnap and etc.  Oh, and of course the plumes of smoke arising from the warm internal fireplace.
And I couldn't resist some curtains behind the glass (frosted sheets from Tim Holtz)
The roof was decorated with paste and the Holiday Knit stencil
Even a little brick walkway to make your way inside
I've placed a battery operated flickering candle inside and I found these for $1 at The Dollar Store with 2 in a package.
During the day you can see the candle glow just fine, but at night, the little house comes alive!
This little pom pom snowman loves to sit outside and watch the happy family together.

And here's their loyal companion and transportation in his favorite spot.
A few additional decorations like the wreath and ornamental snowflakes, lace for trim and some decorated garland fences, moss and 'snow' at last to finish up the look and there you have it.
The Gingerbread Nativity Scene!
From myself and from their home to yours, may your Christmas be blessed with love, family and friendship and happiness and health in the New Year!

Oh Lisa - you have won my heart with this whole gingerbread scene. Perfect in every way and fits right into my fantasy world. A little pretend and a little country. It is obvious that you will not make a how to book with all of your fabulous ideas. You go from super cute to the absurdly scary. From candy to poison - no one does it like you!!

OMG Lisa I can't oh yes I can image the time it has taken to build that amazing gingerbread house. Sooooooooooooo many elements to look at. Too many to mention but all just perfectly placed. Hope you and your family enjoy a wonderful Christmas. I am heading off to spend mine with family who live in the Tropics - so seafood will be a plenty with lovely fresh salads and pavlova. Shortbread for the New Year. Hugs from Oz.
PS Can't wait to see what next you play with.
