Movie Date
I was asked to create a sketch for the challenge this time at Top Tip Tuesday and I had so much fun designing them I couldn't stop, so I made two! This card is based off of sketch 1 and thanks to one of our Sponsors, Karen's Doodles, I decided to use Movie Date as the theme. I've colored only certain aspects of the image, keeping focus on the location; the theater. I think they turned out pretty cute keeping them black and white. The additional sketch elements are free downloads that I printed and cut out from clker.com. A few additional stickle dots and a couple of tickets from the Tim Holtz tag collection and I've got a great invitation for a date night out!
Layered Sketch 1

Clean and Simple Sketch 2
Kindness Matters
This is my rendition of the sketch and I've used a free images printout from Magic Moonlight Studio under the category of Butterflies and Birds. I designed this by running the card through the BigShot with Fiskar's lined embossing plate. Inked it up with TH Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and lightly spritzed with lavender scented water. Once dry, I crosshatched Picket Fence Distress Paint randomly over the top. Heated it up with the heat tool and then sanded down various sections. I printed out two copies of the butterflies, one to lay flat and one to take flight atop the other. After completing that, I clear embossed a butterfly from Stampin' Up's Kindness Matters stamp set and then stamped the sentiment over that with TH Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The last touch was with assorted colors of Stickles on the butterflies and that's it!
I hope you've enjoyed the cards. There are so many more wonderful creations at TOP TIP TUESDAY from the other DT's and if you find yourself inspired, I'd love to see what you do with the sketches. You can either do one or the other or both!! It's totally up to you.
Thanks for stopping by and keeping up with my longwinded post!
Hugs and Happy Stamping...

Hello Q
I don't know where to begin with my appraisal of these two Sketches/Cards. What I will say first though is that TTT are counting their blessings that they found you!
Your butterfly card is gorgeous, and I know this hyperbole is overused in describing many a card, but I love it's form and composition, plus it has that little bit of uniqueness about it, and that is always a great starting point in grabbing ones attention.
Your Movie card is totally unique and has your stamp (pun not intended) all over it, the way you use digis on your creations always surprises me, as they are just gorgeous.....Ahhhhh there's that word again!
I may enter this Challenge Q, and hopefully catch some-ones eye!
Smiles:)

Moving on to my indoor voice.
Holy cow!!!!
I loved the first card until I saw the second and then stopped breathing for a minute.
DO I also read that it smells pretty too?????
That is an amazing take on the sketch - so much fun and gorgeous layout!!
I totally love your butterfly card - soooo pretty!!
L2,
OMGosh, where to begin? First, I love the date night card and what a sketch. It is definitely one of the best I've seen and it a REAL sketch challenge. Secondly, I am in love with that butterfly card and your technique for the 3D effect is beautiful. I just love those winged creatures!! It is also another great sketch and I've been stumped all day trying to decide on a sketch for a color challenge and you are so my hero right now. Look for #1 or #2 very soon on my bloggie. Thanks again for the inspiration and talent that you share with all of us.
Have fun crafting & big hugs,
L1
Lisa - I **LoVe* the new mustache you added to your blog header!!! It's so fabulous!
Whoa! Those 3D butterflies are AMAZING!!! They look so real! Can you imagine putting those on a t-shirt or hat, then walking around the store with a cluster of faux butterflies on it...a nice conversation piece! xo

And she makes sketches too...Is there no end to your supply of creative talents?! Both sketches are great and as much as I love Movie Night with those red seats and the reels, the butterflies blew me away! The base is awesome (lavender????!!!!) and the swarm of butterflies are not only gorgeous but really do seem to 'move' up the card. Amazing work, my friend!
Two brilliant cards.
Two so different cards:-) but beautiful both of them. The first one is fun and the colours so vibrant and lively. The second is absolutely fab, so pretty! Love them!
Wow, Lisa there is no stopping you! Two fantastic sketches. Both your cards look amazing, but the butterfly one really caught my eye, so soft and feminine.
Michelle :o)
Love the butterflies. What an eyecatcher.
