Where the heart loves...

Boy, oh boy, did I do some walking on this card. Not physically, of course, but mentally I was pacing back and forth.  The ever fantastic Christina Barnes is hosting this week at Our Creative Corner.  Please visit the main blog to read more about this week's Sketch Challenge for a Male with the additional option of using monochromatic colors.  Having read Christina's motivation for this week's challenge, I was so touched and  inspired, I decided to create this template of a wing-tip shoe along with a Maltese Proverb in honor of someone very special in her life.  Just briefly, I stayed with monochromatic browns (with the exception of one little red heart) and houndstooth embossed some brown corrugated cardboard, layered it with white corrugated cardboard and then layered that with sheet music strips to While Strolling Through The Park One Day and topped it off with the paper pieced shoe.  Hope you enjoy this card and thank you so much for your visit.
Hugs,
Lisa xx
Here's my sketch that you are welcome to take if you'd like to. Have a wonderful day!

hi Lisa

just to say that the white handles are drawer handles. My dad made me some ink blenders and a holder using blocks of wood, drawer handles and velcro. Clever dad !!
Just made a quick tag as I am working on an altered book....so wish I had made some ink splats on it before taking photos !!

I love all the layers and your sketch is great Lisa. It reminds me of THE GREAT GATSBY. Can't get over what an incredible job you have done with that shoe -- I can sing the song, but how in the heck does one come up with a Maltese proverb? Wait - do I hear MENSA calling??? Beautifully done Lisa and so very creative!

Bet your kiddies would laugh you out of the house for singing that song. I'm sure they certainly wouldn't recognize it like we "old" folks do. LOL The shoe is genius and some awesome pencil work girl. I really like how you did the paper piercing on the toe. Looks totally authentic! Great job Twang!

Hello Q
What a wonderful Brogue you have sketched, but not only that you have coloured and tied it up perfectly, and set it so well into this design. It has amazing texture, uniqueness and a little sentimental quality to it as well. It is perfect for a man.
Smiles:)

Wonderful! The red heart adding the perfect splash of color, the amazing texture, the paper pieced shoe (fabulous laces!!), but I really had to smile at the sheet music! Perfect for the overall theme of your card and also made me think of an old Bugs Bunny cartoon! Such a great masculine card and thanks for sharing the shoe!!
