Applying The Brakes...

Hello all you fabulous blog buddies!
Well, it's the end of the month and we are finishing up the personal challenges between Onion, Mitza Pitza and myself.  The final theme this go around was to
Create 2 cards (Clean and Simple & Shabby Chic) Using Same Design or Colors....wow!!

The above card is my Shabby Chic version using the below paper sent to each of us by Sue (Onion), our common element.  You'll find this paper in the flag and arrow on the left side of the fence in each card.

I thought it would be fun to repeat not only this shape and paper in each card, but the same main details as well and derive a completely different appearance in each; at least I hoped I would.
So next I "applied the brakes" and created my CAS version...
I had such an incredible time creating these projects with a few of my blog buddies and just as before, I cannot wait to see what Sue and Mitra have created for this doozie!
Thanks so much for your positive feedback and wonderful comments.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate you.
 Okay....it's a BUNCH!!!

Hugs n' Happy Stamping to you all,
Lisa xx

They are both brilliant, Lisa! I love the first because you always do detail so well but my fave has to be the second due my personal CAS preferences!

Hello Q
Love, love the unicycle and how you have incorporated it into the two genres successfully. I have to admit to having mixed feelings now that this exercise of ours has finished, but we must move onwards and upwards, and even though you may think that you have not always produced great work in the Challenges, I am here to alleviate your negative thoughts. I also felt I was not up to par, until I looked back to where I was and to where I am now, and I surprised myself as I felt satisfied with what I had accomplished, the feedback we have received has been incredible and you must be buoyed by this, as looking at these two cards gives me such a lift and pleases my soul immensely. Your Shabby is so you, I love it, all the layers and elements which create the interest and texture that is so appealing to the eye, your extroverted imagination is on show BIG time.
Your CAS card is exceptional and even though you may have pushed the boundaries a tad with this genre to the purists, I applaud your creativity. Both cards are brilliantly designed and I am thrilled with what I see.
Smiles:)

Wonderful cards Lisa - I am sorry this group is moving on. Here I was already to suggest that you each get a dictionary and every month starting with A do a dictionary page. The one rule being you have to use the same word. It would be fun to see how each of your design your page.

Well I just had to come back and make one more comment. I like the Shabby Chic one the best - it is a wonderful dance of texture and color and one's eyes move all around your creation. Just like the neat old bicycle - your eyes go round and round and round again.

Fantastically creative pair of cards, Lisa - the penny farthing bicycle is a wonderful central image, and the CAS version is very cool... but that shabby chic one is fantastic - but then it is my preferred mode, so I would prefer that one! Love the buttons, the splatters, the embossing, the lace - and all in such fun, modern colours - wow, wow!

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'm going to get caught up tonight. It is going on 10 minutes after five (that is the am) and I really should have been in bed at least 2 hours ago. Oh and before I forget, two things--first is when I click on 'comments' nothing happens, the only way I can post a comment is to right click and open in another window. It's not a big deal but I'm just wondering why. Second--I've signed up to receive your posts by email. Doesn't mean I'll get over here any faster but it does mean when I can catch up I won't have to keep hitting 'older posts' to find out where I left off. Yes, I know I'm getting a little long winded and Blogger may not even let me publish the comment. Your cards--wonderful. Love how you incorporated the same element into both. I hope to be back again tomorrow if I can remember!

Love and miss ya!
Lisa
