Red Cross, Laryngitis, and Santa's Landing Pad...

Hi, Hello, Howdy!
It's now day 4 that I'm experiencing total loss of my voice.
Spring has sprung and something came in like a lion and out like a lamb or in like a lamb and out like a lion; well, whatever it was, it went out with my voice. My favorite tag phrase has been, "I'm only gonna whisper this once!"  It's horrible when you try so hard to squeak out a sentence and all you get is, "What?" I hate repeating myself, but the family is having fun calling me the new Godfather with my scratchy barely audible attempts at communicating. All I need is a cat and a swivel chair and I think I could give Marlon Brando a run for his money!
OH..before that, our town was declared a state of emergency and Red Cross came in to help with the flooding!  It's been so fun, I tell ya.

Well, so... before all that, I made this very VERY fun and cool Configuration Box from the latest cut file from The Cutting Cafe!
The concept is going to be Santa sitting in his configuration box airplane as he's just landed and dispersed the presents and toys below.  Thought it would make a cute vintage centerpiece at Christmas.
I'm just sorry that I don't have it completed, but I promise to share the photographs when it's all done!
Regina has created the best configuration layouts and diagrams for easiest assembly.  The airplane was created by joining two of the boxes together and then I used my cutting machine to design the wings accordingly in size and add on plane like embellishments.

We'd love for you to stop by the Cutting Cafe blog and leave a comment.  Each week Regina randomly selects a person to win 3 cut files from her store, just for stopping in and leaving a message!
Thanks SO much for your visit and now that I'm feeling up to par, I will be around to visit you all soon!
HUGE Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Lisa xx

Love your idea for this creation, you must share pictures of it when Christmas is here!

First of all I did not know you were living in a State of Emergency. I have been through two direct hits by hurricanes in Florida both hitting within 4 weeks of each other. I know what it is to stand in a Fima line for ice.
Now I know I have to have one of these machines if you can make configuration boxes with them. I do love those dang boxes. I cannot wait to see what you will do with it kid.
Quite honestly, you write one heck of a lot better than I do but I could edit what you write and add funny zingers. What a best seller that would be! LOL
You know I love following you Lisa - you are the best!!

It's going to be so cool! I already love it to bits!!

So sorry to hear about your voice and the flooding - sounds like a chapter of disasters. Stay warm (scarves around the throat) and lubricated, and carry a small notebook (better than whispering)...

PS - that's advice for the voice, by the way - it won't help with the flooding, I'm afraid!

WOW! The airplane on top of the box is amazing. Can't wait to see how you decorate the box sections.

Sorry to hear about your voice. I'm deaf in one ear and have to ask people to repeat themselves a lot and hate that.

Sorry to hear about the flooding too. Wish you could share some of the moisture with us. We are in such a severe drought. Right now it is snowing, but it would take many many days of steady rain to get us out of this drought.

I got so wrapped up in your make and your State of Emergency I did not think about your voice. But if that is the worse thing that happens to you during all this time - count your blessings and don't talk!!!!

Wow, you've got a lot on your plate kid! Best thing to do is NOT even try to use your voice for a day or so. Write it down or just give everyone the 'hairy mom eye"! In the meantime, sit quietly and craft! Your creation for today is off to a great start, can't wait to see it when its all done!

You're an engineering genius Twang. This is going to be so cool! Tell you what. You need to find some way to payback the fam for giving you a hard time. How about a clown horn or cow bell. Just tell them you HAVE to have some way to communicate. LOL Hope your sound maker comes back soon. Hugs!

Does your blog track how many times I have been by? No? PHEW! You might think I am stalking that plane...

I also have it on good faith that a pedicure will help you get your voice back. If that doesn't work, you must escalate to a massage followed by a slice of cheesecake. I am pretty sure it's sound medical advice.

I CANNOT WAIT to see what else you come up with to decorate this box. That was throwing me off when I was working on mine. Super cool!

Hope you get less squeeky soon!

Sorry to hear that you were under the weather and on your wedding anniversary to boot! Sorry, I forgot about it. I hope that your 18th was special even though you weren't feeling so great.

I also hope your voice is back. Last year I went over six weeks without one and trying to communicate was an absolute pain so I definitely felt for you.

Great concept. Can't wait to see the finished project!

Hugs,
Original
