Apple Of My Eye...

Summer is officially over when the kids go back to school and that's the theme for this week at
Here is my contribution to educational cuteness.

I decided before I would cut my box that I'd cover the cardstock in foil tape.

Ink will not stick well to the tape so a light layer of Gesso was applied.

Then began the process of making faux patina.

Close-up of the box after patina was applied.
And here is what will be the apple.
A Styrofoam ball that I shaped with a butter knife and made sure to keep the shavings for future Styrofoam fluff projects.

Here's a sweet little treat box for a special teacher, loved one, or friend and it's
SO SUPER EASY to make!

Here is the set all together.
I thought it would be fun to make a faux apple so I covered the Styrofoam with hot glue and strips of vintage sheet music and then painted over the layering with watered down Mod Podge. Once dried with a heat tool, Distress Inks and spritzes of water were applied and then re-dried.  A stem of Kraft cardstock and green leafs were added to finish it up.

Hope you've enjoyed your visit and thank you so much for stopping in!
Biggest of hugs to you and happy crafting,
Lisa xx

I popped in today to say Happy Birthday. Now I'm hoping that I have it written down properly and it is today.

I've sent you an e-card from Punchbowl but it might end up in spam so check your folder.

Hope you are having a great day.

Big birthday hugs,
