The Secret of Life Is...

Welcome back and happy Saturday!
Do you have a little time set aside for crafting this weekend?  Are you in the mood to combine some fabulous color combinations, circles and/or a little fabric?  What's that?? A unanimous "YES"...well, AWESOME, because today at Our Creative Corner, our very own lovely and talented Lori Rider is hosting this weeks challenge with those very elements!
Here is my DT card to meet the Color Challenge theme
Circles? (check), colors? (check), fabric? (check) Well, there was more but it looked horrible, so I did a remake and added a sprig of tulle instead.  Here I've added a clock face to coordinate with the white embossed sentiment from Stampin' Ups! From My Heart stamp set. A fringe of white tulle, lime and  pink ribbon complete the little corner.  The circle background has been embossed and colored with Poppy Parade and  Pear Pizzazz then clear powder embossed.

Lori even provided this excellent little photo and guide to keep you inspired...
You won't even believe what the other teamies have done with this color challenge!  So be sure to hop on over to Our Creative Corner and check out the mind boggling projects they've produced just for your inspiration!
We would really, really love for you to create a card just for this challenge and amaze us with your outstanding talent and creativity.

I hope you all have a very relaxing or productive but mostly fun weekend!
hugs n' happy stamping...
Lisa xx

Completely fantastic card - can't believe those glorious colours, but then the stamped sentiment in b&w just zings in the middle!

Wow, did you ever rock this one, Lisa! Love that beautifully colored textured background. And how fabulous is that sentiment done in black with the white embossing. Super piece of work, your ribbon element is fabulous too. Terrific challenge piece. Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend.

I see you have "Carolina" on your mind. You know James Taylor grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Well I know when Mr. Taylor said that, he was not looking 70 in the eye. He is 4 years younger than I. I think the secret of life is contentment. Loving what you do and the people who surround you. Well, now that we have that out of the way - grand card Lisa - how you mix up your styles so much I will never know.

Hello Q
WOW.... it has all the drama without the conflict; that sentiment hits you in the face! Your Bg looks artistic with the two colours... Poppy and Lime usually look bright and happy, but adding the powerful Black you have created a whole different feeling to the on-looker. Compare mine with yours and you will understand my meaning. A little softness with the Tulle...not much, but it makes a huge difference to the effect.
An amazing design, just love it.
I hope you have had a great weekend, I will catch up soon.
Smiles:)

I just love this grungy card Lisa. It's perfect. Your eye for detail is amazing and it all comes together wonderfully. Your background reminds me of graffiti on pressed metal! WOW

Lisa, what a wonderfully clever card! love how you used white embossing powder! I always forget to use it on black. And your ribbon cluster is a fabulous touch!
have a great weekend, hugs sharon w.
I almost used the exact same stamp set. I guess great minds do think alike.

Love the sentiment!!!! So happy to be back stalking, was off on a work week away from home and it's nice to be back in the saddle!!! I do love that color combo!!!

Had to do a double take with this one! At first glance, it looks like assorted washers glued on the card! Gives it a bit of the steam punk feel that so eludes me!! I love the inking on the awesome background and the tiny bit of tulle with the clock face. Great placement of the sentiment too! Awesome card!

L2,
I agree with everyone, there's so much to take in on this divine card. I'm a huge fan of black and it does create drama in an amazing way. At first glance I scratched my head with these colors but your card truly did rock this challenge. Super inspiration!!! I've got to have that sentiment as my DH is a huge fan of James Taylor. :)
Hugs,
L1 xx

The little piece of tulle is just perfect! You created a fabulous background on this. I visited my daughter this weekend and then got back and we had no power (it was 108 degrees), so I didn't get a lot done. But, YOU created something WONDERFUL!

Now let's talk about your card! Can you say WOWZA? Because I sure did! Love how the sentiment pops off the black card stock and that background is too cool. Very nice! Hugs! :)
