Hello and welcome back to my little ink spot in the world.
It seems as though I'm on a bit of a kitchen kick, but this time, it's not my kitchen. This card is for a challenge over at Inspired By. I love cards that have a little play on words so I designed this using the inspiration photo below.
This is the challenge inspiration photo from Inspired By that can be found here.
Initially I was drawn to the strongest colors of green (although this looks blue in the picture), yellow and hot pink. Next I added the subtle color of pink. White flower centers and sentiments for the cabinets and table and the rosette to symbolize the fold of the cabinet curtain. The fun part was when I saw the muffins on the table and decided to use the Stampin' Up! Comfort Food stamp set to draw it all together. The little loaf of bread is paper pieced and I've typed the sentiment on Word. A couple little additions to complete the card are a trio of toothpicks that have been copic colored for faux hatpins and the mesh behind the rosette is from a bag of oranges that if you look very closely in the inspiration photo, just to the right of the scale, you'll see a little yellow box with chicken wire and this was my attempt to simulate that cute object.
Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you enjoyed the card.
Have a great week!
Lisa xx

Well, well, well L2...
I love it when the kitchen meets craft room. :) What a terrific play on words and paper pieced loaf pan {yummy}!! The mesh behind your rosette is a unique touch and now I know why I've saved all my orange, lemon and onion bags. Haha! The check dp looks like a tablecloth and you've done an outstanding job on this card. Gorgeous flowers too!
This one puts a smile on my face and I'm gonna have to borrow that sentiment, ok?
Lookin' forward to the 14th. ;)
Hugs,
L1 xx
This is such a pretty card! Love the flowers, the rosette and the play on words! Thanks for playing at Inspired By!
As always you made me smile my witty friend! Great play on words and I love your card. I can see the inspiration from the kitchen photo and the colors - SO clever that you made your own sentiment - a one of a kind original like you!!
Well, I love your card, I love all the details like toothpicks and oranges netting bag...but how did you see all those tiny details in the photo is beyond me, I need my binocular glasses on for that one..love the sentiment, and I can smell that loaf...love your design.

I love everything about this card Lisa. You gave me a good lesson in how to take an inspirational picture and go from there. It is more than just duplicating colors which, by the way, are gorgeous. Neat card - I really look forward to your posts.
