The concept was great, but I'm not sure it came to fruition with this card. I still love the rustic, masculine aspects about it, but I'll gladly take suggestions for bettering the outcome.
This is my card for Our Creative Corner where Lili is again hosting this week's challenge theme of
Use Woodgrain! You may use a technique to simulate woodgrain, or use designer paper, or an actual piece of wood! But the woodgrain needs to be there. You also have to use at least one button.
I decided to layer my cardstock with a book page and then stamped out, using the TH magnetic tree, on the cover and reveal wood embossing from the negative space of the tree. Using the actual cut out, I've placed it atop other white powder embossed trees from SU! Lovely As a Tree Set. Oh and of course a little Stickles heart because it's asking the question, "Wood you B Mine?"
This would be a super time to make a masculine Valentine card for your squeeze so come on over to Our Creative Corner and share in the fun.
Thanks so much for your visit.
Hugs n' Happy Stamping,
Lisa x

Hello Q
What a pun! Your clever rhetorical expression on this card is brilliant and connects with the trees so very well, I love your 3d effect, there is texture and depth, and this creates a fabulous scene and perfect for a male card.
Great wit as usual Q.

auauauauahghghg! Did you just say you thought this could be better? I am sure it could, if it was sitting on my shelf where I could love it every day! ;-) Dude, you rocked the wood grain!
This is amazing Lisa. Love how you've distressed and embossed this card. Looks stunning. Hugs Bettina xx
Beautiful card - very inventive
Thanks very much for your kind words. I am delighted that you liked the post card as i wasn't sure myself what to think of when i was creating it ..
I am a big fan of new challenges,
Kind regards...
Your forest looks fantastic against the book background, and the embossed woodgrain was a brilliant idea! As far as the sentiment? Quite punny, and we 'wooden' want you any other way!
The girls and I spend over an hour walking around Wal-mart looking for inspiration for school Valentines. We finally settled on something we all thought was funny. I was a little disappointed that my "Be a smartie, don't break my heartie!" didn't win... JK!
Love your creation! The distress and the woodgrain piece are fabulous.
Hugs ;)
