Foiled Friendship....

Nope, the friendship isn't foiled, but the card is!
The original concept was to create an entirely foil card, but upon further contemplation, it felt a bit 'cold' so I decided to alter it and add some pretty papers and soft sheer ribbon and laced leaves I found in the cake decorating section of Walmart.   The metal flower was created using different punches and die cuts and layered with gesso, tattered ink DI, Poppy Parade and Basic Brown SU ink and a finishing layer of clear embossing Powder.  The Sentiment is in Opaque Finish embossing powder from Stampin' Up! A bit of Vintage Photo DI smeared along the edges of the base to complete the look.
Many thanks sentiment from Stampin' Up! completes the inside of the card.
This is my DT card for yet another fabulous
Linky Party #95 happening now!

Our sponsor for this party is none other than
Prize to be awarded:  3 downloadable paper collections!!

Stop by and say hi and check out the other talented work from the DT ladies at MIM.

Before I go, I'd like to show you my...
PICK OF THE WEEK!
titled
"Eerie Elegance"
Reminded me of a black and white silent movie. Here is a 'blip' from her blog.
"So here's my offering..... this is as elegant as i get! Beautiful 'death cab' image from SMEARED INK.... Black, white and silver. Die cuts, punches, ribbon, feathers, gems, and the dreaded glitter card stock. Ribbon flowers, metal flowers.... a lovely metal 'always' mesh....and loads of black ink."
Within the macabre is beautiful elegance. I think it's a really original piece of artwork.
Thank you so much for your wonderful visit!
Hugs n' Happy Stamping...
Lisa xx

Hello QUIRKS
First Congratulations on your win over at 'frilly n funky' Sunday Share, 25% off is not to be sneezed at!
Your card once again is an original piece of work, I don't know how you continue to produce these amazing pieces. The Foil Bg is cold; you are so correct, but you have warmed it up wonderfully with the Bg pp, and that most delicious flower, which is in full bloom, and adding the ribbon creates so much movement. Altogether it makes for an interesting piece of art, too good for a card in my opinion.
Smiles:)

L2,
This is a gorgeous card and I am always amazed at how you take random things and create such beauty. I LOVE your flower and the leaves are stunning. I could stare at them for days and who knew the cake department at Wal-Mart produced such things. ;) I need to give foil a try because what you've created here is a piece of art and my hat is off to you. This card is so rich and it put a huge smile on my face this morning.
You've Got Talent!
Hugs,
L1 xx

My goodness...this is astounding. Not in a million, trillion years could I do something like this...it would just turn out a, well, what's the opposite of "hot mess?" Lol! Gorgeous!!!

Your card for this week Lisa is very pretty and the flower gorgeous.
I am honoured you choose my card as your pick of the week... not to many folks like the darker/creepier/ more macabre side of crafting...and many just dismiss 'us' as weird. Thank you for being open minded and liking eerie elegance. BDx

Who knew foil and Wal-Mart cake decorations could be so fabulous together?! Other than you, of course! The flower is beyond amazing and I love how you describe each step so nonchalantly! As if I could replicate this...
I think you described your POTW perfectly as a black and white movie. It has that feel of sadness and beauty at the same time.

Wonderful ideas Lisa - I see so many of my friends commenting on your cards. I must make an endeavor to go to Wal-Mart. Out side of bras I have not found them to be of much use to me. I am not even sure that is how one must spell Wallmart. But I do know I like your flower a lot. And I do understand your sense of humor as well as your sense of the ridiculous and that my friend is called good mental health!!!
LOL! - Sandy

I couldn't even tell that was a metal flower, I thought it was paper!! You are one talented crafter!

I love the look of the foil.

Your POTW is a very dramitic card, she always does such gorgeous work, certainly deviates from the norm.
