He Has Risen and There's Candy in the Yard!!!

Easter Sunday is one of my favorite times of the year. Growing up, our church always had the best sermons and music and the alter was always FILLED with Easter Lilies.  After the service was over, all the little kids, myself included, would head to the front of the church, boys in their suits and girls in their little frilly dresses and shiny shoes, to pick out one potted Lily for our moms.  I remember my eyes widening as I scanned the mass of beautiful flowers, waiting to find JUST the perfect one.  As I got a little older, I got smarter and started scanning from the pew during the sermon.  When the pastor would call us down, boy oh boy, did ruffles go flying as I zoomed down the aisle, my eyes honing in on the one I'd already pre-selected!
Years later when I got married, my husband and I decided on April and when we were making the arrangements, we asked the pastor if he would mind keeping up the flowers from the Easter Service. He was more than happy to comply and viola, beautiful alter already decorated and WOW what a cost saver!
Just a tip for those possibly thinking about about weddings.
So in honor of this wonderful holiday, I've had the pleasure of making an Easter card that represents my second favorite element...Chocolate and Easter Egg Hunt!!  As you can see, there's no chocolate eggs here, per say...I didn't want it misconstrued that they might not be eggs.... ;)
Thank you to Regina from the Cutting Cafe for providing the DT with the adorable files.
Here's what I've used for my card:
The file also comes with sentiments and accessories!!
So hop on over to the Cutting Cafe and check out the wonderful makes from my teammates and be sure to see ALL the amazing cut files that Regina has for Easter. Remember, you don't need to have a cutting machine to make these, they are easily hand cut as well.

You are finding some of the cutest cuts to use for your projects. Good thing you didn't use the chocolate on there cause knowing you that's exactly what I would have thought it was. LOL We have some friends who actually went out and got some real rabbit poop from the woods to prove to their kids the Easter Bunny had been there. :-) You know us hicks, we gotta keep it real. Hugs!

Love your story, my kids can relate to the same experience, I grew up in a different religeon with no celebrations. I celebrate now with the kids, so much fun! I love your bunnies against the fence, so cute and I would use this as a decoration. I love the textures and patterns you used to make them. So sweet!

FABULOUS piece Lisa! I too wore those frillies on a Sunday! Not only that, but Saturday night meant curlers in my hair overnight for bouncy curls at Sunday mass with a big bow on top!! Oh I cringe at the thought! Nicola x

Love this! The bunny face in the E and all the hidden eggs are so wonderful! We'll just pretend they are solid chocolate inside the pretty shells! Heck, let's just make the bunnies chocolate too!!
But seriously, this is such a wonderful card sharing the goodness of Easter and I loved your story too! We've had several weddings planned around the Christmas season at our church. Very wise to use the decorations that are already there!

Beautiful card but more importantly a beautiful story. Thanks so much for sharing. Now if only I'd thought of the flower trick. Although I don't know if it would have worked out. When was Easter 24 years ago?! Something else we have in common besides our first name and love of cards...we were both married in April!

Hope you are doing well. Come and see me and get you name entered into the draw I'm having. You have 10 chances of winning!

Hugs,
Lisa

I really enjoyed reading your post Lisa - my daydreaming of the old days took the focus off your card. You wedding must have been stunning - you in your dress surrounded by all those beautiful lillies and just the perfume in the air probably brings back memories for you. You don't need me to tell you your project is amazing - you always get it right down to the littlest detail like the bead eyes and the bows. That chickie really draws my eye - like he's saying "Come on - get going!"
