Happy Fall Ya'll...

Okay, show of hands....who here is giddy as a tick on a fat dog that Fall is FINALLY here in the Midwest?
OH, OH, OH....pick me, pick me!!!
Yes I am and I had to show the world with my handmade sign.  Well, okay, maybe not the world per se, but for sure, my neighborhood.  Alright, perhaps not the entire neighborhood, but definitely my street!
I really enjoyed using the Fall Word Shaped Card file from The Cutting Cafe this week as it set the whole project in motion.
A couple months back, I broke down a a wood pallet and by "I" I mean... I said, "Hey honey, let's break down this wood pallet" (that will sit in your garage for months until I figure out what to do with it) and then watched him from a very safe distance as he wielded his power tools and disassembled it for me, all the while, I'm fairly certain, thinking of about 100 things he'd rather be doing!
Buuuut, now that 'we' had done that, I had a great piece of wood for a little sign.
So yeah! I painted and mod podged and crackled and stained and tinkered and fiddled away.

I even bent an old wire hanger and then crinkled and twisted some burlap that day.
And after some sanding and gluing and scrunching and such, what to my wondering eyes should appear?
No, no, not a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer...
A wreath! A wreath appeared.  On my door!!
And I'm so stinking happy!!!
Hugs and Happy Fall Ya'll!!
Lisa xx

What a great rustic sign to welcome Fall - love the altered squashes and the weathered wood. I've got some fruit crates, but I've been preserving them to use as crates - maybe that's an error!! Fab inspiration as always - and yes, I love seeing the trees on the turn, especially as we've finally got some sunshine and blue skies to enjoy them under - after a summer of grey wet cold drizzle.

I love coming here to read your 'story' on how you achieve such amazing creations. This is another one I am in awe of. Totally awesome. Is there anything that your hands can't make into a Masterpiece?

People in my town would pay big bucks (BIG) for a wreath this gorgeous, Lisa! Stunning - and made all the more so because YOU made it (well, with some help, of course). Love it immensely - and your poetry rocks! Smiling brightly at every detail in your post: photos and words!

I can just see you out there braking down a pallet, you really have to tell me were you make this stuff because it can not be in your beautiful craft room. I can picture you out in a barn. I like what the sign says just the way it is. You keep creating all these wonderful creations but what do you do with them all? I'd like to see your beautiful house all decorated for Halloween but your kids are all grown!
