Thursday's posts are going to be titled, Credit Goes To, where I "case" a random blog (won't necessarily be a stamp blog) and create a card that has my twist on it. I always try and give credit to the origin of my ideas, but since I'm casing here, it's all about giving kudos to the source and sharing some really amazing blogs. I've received several wonderful suggestions for blogs and have checked them all out and I thank you for them!

Scherenschnitte Serenity
Here is the card I designed ~ First attempt
Scherenschnitte, which means "scissor cuts" in German, is the art of paper-cutting design.
Steps to making this card
1. Print out template of design and place onto desired solid card stock (I made mine with a frame border)
2. Using small tip scissors or an X-ACTO knife, cut design out
3. Design the recessed window so that the design lays on top of it (Since this is my first attempt, you'll notice I didn't make the design frame large enough to lay exactly onto the window frame)
4. Once the window is made, cut out your card to desired size and set window down for temporary placement
5. Trace inside the window with a pencil so that you know where window will go once you remove it from card.
6. Decorate the card cover leaving void the space where the window will go. (I VersaMark stamped the flowers and embossed with black and then sponged More Mustard and Peach Parfait over that to match the setting sun behind the design)
7. Take sticky note-pads and mask around the outside of your penciled lines and be sure to cover up any exposed card area that you don't want inked.
8. Sponge and Bray the desired background color to help make your design even more prominent. (I used More Mustard and Peach Parfait here)
9. Adhere the Scherenschnitte design to the outside window ledge and then tape this to the card and viola
you are done!
