Flower Power Frenzy

Mix it Up Monday challenge over at Stamp TV has decided that we need to focus on flowers.
I thought this challenge would be easier than it actually was, but when I started pooling together all the floral what-nots and wing-dings that I have, it almost became too difficult to narrow down my options.

I finally decided on neutral flowers and let the paper and ribbon be the colors that popped.

Here's my card that I'm submitting to the challenge
Here are the supplies that I used

More close-ups of the card

Dry Embossed card base
Ran a few of the flowers through the BigShot as well to make the polka-dot image on the petals
Bling with flower buttons
Golden Thank You emblem as the centerpiece of the card
Pearl wisps to embellish
Above the white card base is a rectangular paper that I Versamark stamped and then gold powder embossed and then bleached the non-embossed sections of the flower.
On top of that I laid a diamond shape vintage print paper for more texture

I wanted to make leaves for the flowers, and I wasn't sure that green CS would do the trick.  I decided on bending scraps of green hued ribbon instead.

The End :)

Makin' it homemade

Over at Stamp TV, they have a challenge called Free For All Friday, and the objective for this one is DIY Patterned paper.
If you'd like to check it out you can click the picture below and it will take you right to the link.

To start with, here are the supplies that I chose to make my patterned paper

Stamps are from Kimberly Crick

Steps to creating this background:
1.  On white card stock, VersaMark the butterfly wings
2.  Apply clear embossing powder
3.  Apply with daubers, the light green ink, over entire surface
4.  Apply with darker green ink directly on top of the butterflies
5.  Using a Swiffer dust rag, wipe off the excess inks
6.  Apply a purple ink to the fine print stamp and apply directly over entire surface
(The print will appear to be on top of the wings at this point)
7.  Using the Swiffer rag again, rub off excess and the print will now appear to be below the wings.

Adding some extra bling:
1.  Vintage base of card is made by taking Pale Plum cs and adding the same green inks used in the DP but topping it with the tea stain distressing ink.
2.  Use the edge distress tool for more antique vintage look
3.  Apply tissue paper under the patterned paper on two edges and tear
4.  Stamp the center image from Stampin' Up! Bliss using purple ink
5.  Add pearl accessories and a sheer purple ribbon
6.  Apply the Thinking of You rub on.
(Rub-ons are more difficult to apply to an emboss resisted background, but if you place the rub-on where you want it and hit it with the heat gun for a second, and then rub it in, the image sticks with ease.)

You'll notice on the card the YOU messed up and this is where I decided to use the heat gun for the rest.

Well that's it for now.
Hope you found a little inspiration in this :)

But before I go,
I just wanna know something....

Does anyone else's work space look this way when they're done making just one card???

Or is it just me?

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out Stamp TV's challenge.

The Bottom Line

Well, Spring is here and Summer is on the way and so is the question that most women will ask and EVERY man will dread...

I absolutely love this little bee and the quote just makes me laugh.

My inspiration came from Stamp TV's, Mix It Up Monday:
Spring Inspiration Challenge,
posted by Carolina, using this image.

(Click the image to take you right to the challenge)

If you look closely, you will see 2 little bumble bees and when I saw them, I knew I had to make this card.

The Bumble Bee stamps are from Rubbernecker and the paper comes from Karen Foster Design.

I hope you enjoyed the humor in this card and I'll leave you with a title from my favorite author who truly found laughter in all areas of life, Erma Bombeck.

Thanks for stopping in! :)

(I am only entering this card into Stamp TV's challenge STVMONCB1)

Stamp TV Color Challenge

I love nothing better than a great stamping challenge, but these colors, I'm gonna be honest, were really funky for me.
No offense, Teresa, at Stamp TV, it's what makes it a challenge..so, job well done!

Below are my card and Stamp TV color challenge link.
This one ends tonight, so if you want to participate, hurry and get yours in. :)

All in all, I had a lot of throw aways and some I'll keep for laters,
but the end result is this and I'm pretty happy with it.

The ribbon is sheer Creme de Menthe and the center flower is inked with Wild Lilac(ish) like colors and the black is the embossed background and brad (which is not centered...lol)

Here are the colors that Stamp TV chose

Thank you for stopping  by and good luck with your future projects! :)
P.S.  Someone new just joined the list of Amazing Crafters and I'd like to say hello and thank you as well. All of your works are inspiration to me!

Once Upon A "Template" Time

With the sound of birds outside and the smell of fresh rain and an amazing sketch template on Stamp TV, I was inspired to make this card.

Bird On a Branch

I'd like to thank my BFF Jennifer for showing me how to make clouds this morning.  It was the perfect timing.
This card is also for the Stamp TV sketch challenge and the template and link are just below.

Icky-Yuck!

Well, it's not every time that I make a card I like.  However, I was on to a neat idea and wanted to share it in hopes someone else could take it and make something MUCH prettier! ;)
The concept here is to cover the front of the card with material and then place paper on top that corresponds with the material.  This card was designed with the Stamp TV Color Challenge colors, but they didn't match the material I had, so this is the best I came up with.

I present...Icky....

Here is the link to Stamp TV if you are interested in entering a card for their challenge.
