M&M Man Card

A sneak peek at my 2nd post for today

A close up of cute little teddy bear slippers

Over at HCTB (Here Come the Boys) they are having their second manly-man card challenge using a sketch.
Here is the sketch and link so you can hop on over there and check it out yourself!

I thought I wanted to paper piece a card, but after attempting that, I reverted to just hand drawing the elements of the card I am submitting into their challenge.

How I incorporated the image with the sketch

The sketch shows that the image needs to have a backdrop so I made the M&M in the recliner have a framed portrait of dogs playing poker behind it.

The sketch shows that the card base is to have lines of separation, so I decided that the wall would be paneling that I scored allowing slats with varying width sizes.

The sketch shows a sentiment on the front, but rather than words, I chose images to speak for themselves.  A drink, book and remote control in the other hand.
Also, there is ribbon in the sketch, but it didn't match this M&M's house, so I made a blue carpet with fraying around the edge and a white sewn stitch to symbolize the ribbon aspect.

Here is a picture of my inspiration that I tweaked.

Thanks for stopping by!

HI Lisa
Love your M&M card, it's so much fun and a really interesting take on our sketch. Thanks for your kind comment on my vintage car card, in answer to your question about entering multiple challenges you might find the felineplayful.blogspot.com helpful, it lists most challenges on a daily basis and what the challenge is. I tend to look throught o see if I can get a card to fit and I also follow way too many challenge blogs!! Hope you will continue to visit us at Here come the boys, love Jacky x
