BFF Stampin' Corner Challenge 8 (Sentimental Journey)

This weeks BFF Challenge was decided by me and I thought it would be fun to combine two other random blog challenges as our own challenge.
I picked Lily Pad's How To video on Movement and Dimensions.

The other blog challenge is from Papertake for Spots and Stripes.

As I began designing in my head, the concept for my card, I kept humming this one particular song, and then it all clicked.
Here's a little background...
When I was very little, my grandfather nicknamed me Bird because he said that every time they fed me, I would get so excited and flap my arms.   It reminded him of a bird; hence, today I'm 41 and still called Bird.  I spent a great deal of time with my grandparents growing up and was exposed to a lot of 1940 and 50's music.  I absolutely LOVE those eras of music!
My grandfather passed away many years ago, when I was only a teenager, but I still think of him all the time and go back to the memories that he made for me.  I am so fortunate to still have my grandmother with me and since she reads this blog frequently...

Here's to you Grandma and Grandpa,
Thank you for all your love and support.
Thank you for all the culture and experiences.
Thank you for the guidance and encouragement.
Thank you for the best memories a granddaughter could have.

I love you both so very much!!!
Love,
Bird

BFF Stampin' Corner Challenge 7 (View Master)

Well, Jennifer thought it would be fun to return to our childhood days for this challenge and decided on a View Master/View Finder card.

Needless to say, it's one of the harder challenges I've ever done.  I'm thinking I speak for her as well. :)

However, I managed to pull it off and here is the outcome...

Here is Jennifer's beautiful card!
(The link takes you to her blog where you can read her "thoughts" on this challenge...lol.)

Here are the rules for our BFF Challenge:
1. You must use 3D dimensions.
2.  Use 3 colors of ribbon
3.  Use Brads or Eyelets
4.  Any color combo is fine
5.  Use an Embossing Folder (Mine was used on the water in the jar)
6.  Sentiment on the front of the card

The tutorial that I followed was from Splitcoaststampers and here is the link.

BFF's Stampin' Corner Challenge 6

Welcome back to the BFF challenge.

Here are the rules that I decided on...

*  Emboss your card base
*  Choose a focal shape to adhere above this that is designed using the Tile Technique
*  The image must be stamped in black and white
* One and only one portion of the stamped image must be highlighted in color and double layered.
*  Any hardware or embellishments may be used

Here is the card that I designed for the challenge

Products used for this card were:
Nestabilities Labels Four
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Clear Embossing Powder over entire center sentiment
flower, ribbons, brad, ink

Here is Jennifer's Beautiful card!!!

Thank you for stopping by and if you have a second, check out the Lily Pad link to the right.  A new stamping challenge blog that is opening up tomorrow!!!

BFF's Stampin' Corner Challenge 5

This weeks challenge was decided by Jennifer and she really put me to the test. :)

The rules for the BFF challenge are:
1.   Make your own flower
2. Use Spring colors
3.  Use ribbon and chipboard
4. Use only 1 tiny embellishment

My card...

I have no idea what this flower is.  It was my 4th attempt and it was based on pure luck and insanity at that point.
The chipboard is the heart with gold embossing powder that I filed down to look more rustic.
The tiny embellishment is the pearl inside the center of the heart.

Here is Jennifer's Card

The colors she used were Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand, and Pink Pirouette.  The happy birthday chipboard is from SU and is misted with smooch spray. She used the scallop circle punch and a rhinestone brad to create the flower and daubed cherry cobbler on the edges.

Check back next week when I give Jen a real doozy! ;)

Again, thank you for stopping by and best of luck with your creativity.

BFF's Stampin' Corner Challenge 4

On this weeks BFF Stampin' Challenge I decided it would be fun to design a vellum card.
The rules of this challenge are:
1.  Use vellum as card base
2.  Use rub-ons
3.  Embellish to your heart's content
4.  Attach paper to the inside to write your sentiment

That's it!  And here is what I designed...

The Outside has the flower rub-on and the Thank You rub-on with leaf, flower and diamond embellishments.
The inside of the card has the ornate white rub-on design and the green paper with embossed flowers for sentiment.

Happy Stamping and Happy St.Patrick's Day as well!!
