You Bring Ice Cream, I'll "Bling" Cake...

QUICK...grab the vacuum, I am covered in glittery, shimmery, foo-foo and sparkles and it's glorious!  Now, don't be jealous because, guess what??  It's YOUR turn!
That's right, the very creative and talented Paula McClane is hosting this week at
and if you haven't guessed it yet, the theme is...
BLING BLING!
(with a twist...you must add things found in nature as well)

Here's my DT creation of a three-tiered cake that's versatile enough to be a birthday card or a wedding card!
The base of this card is cut to form a triangle; however, hind sight 20/20, an oval card would have worked perfectly and looked a bit nicer.  Three die cut shapes of decreasing size were then cut and layered to the triangle.  The top and middle dies are mounted on foam squares to give the cake distinct layering.   The decorative paper is something I just received called Color Me paper from Paper Wishes and comes in 12 x 12 sheets of pre-embossed designs and it's up to you to color them however you want and it's amazing!  I've used Tim Holtz Antique Linen DI to cover the paper. Then the really fun stuff started.  If you look closely you'll see a large corrugated cardboard butterfly, a gorgeous creation from Linda's store, The Funky Junkie Boutique.  Atop this butterfly is yet another butterfly made from acetate and embossed with the SU embosslit, Beautiful Wings.   I inked the embosslit with Versamark and ran the acetate through. Once it was cut, I instantly poured opalescent glitter onto it.  You'll have to look close in this picture, but there are 4 other butterflies just like this in varied sizes flitting on the cake.
Here is a rosette in My Mind's Eye Portobello Road paper pad.  A double layer of flowers and glitter added again.  The surrounding leaves are also acetate and paint brushed with Pearl- EX powder Duo Green-Yellow and Spring Green.
A little lace for "icing" and some Crystal beads and tear drops I've glued together for a blinged tassels.  The entire card base was then touched up with Pearl-EX Inference Gold powder for even more shine.

Okay, that's all for me on this card and now it's over to you to find you inner bling!
Need more inspiration? Then by all means, head on over to
and check out the bling-tastic fest by the other amazing teamies!

Thank you so much for your visit.
Hugs n' Happy Stamping...
Lisa xx

Hello Q
What a WOW!!!
Love the design, as this is the first thing that grabs my attention, your shabbiness is gorgeous, I love the lace and pearls and organza which brings in the tactile quality that I personally cannot have too much of on a creation; this is not to be thrown away!
Finishing off your cake with the framed sentiment and butterfly above your flower brings it all together so well. You have made a beautiful piece of work my girl, and you should be very proud of yourself.
Smiles:)
