Thursday Giggle....

Children's Sermon 

A Baptist pastor was presenting a children's sermon. During the 

sermon, he asked the children if they knew what the resurrection was. 

Now, asking questions during children's sermons is crucial, but at the 

same time, asking children questions in front of a congregation can 

also be very dangerous. 

Having asked the children if they knew the meaning of the 

resurrection, a little boy raised his hand........ 

The pastor called on him and the little boy said, "I know that if you have a resurrection 

that lasts for more than four hours you are supposed to call the doctor." 

It took over ten minutes for the congregation to settle down enough for the service to continue.

It's another rainy day here, so I thought I'd post up a funny email I received yesterday to brighten the day.

Figure 8 Easter Egg Hunt....

I couldn't resist making this Easter card with a little humor in the mix.

 The fun challenge this week at Top Tip Tuesday is Girls and Boys Come Out to Play! 

Firstly, I realize that Easter is now over, but for me, I'm accustomed to it being in April and secondly, I'm not accustomed to it being in snow! SO...I thought it would be comical to make this little cutie skating on ice as she's searching for the hidden treasures o' chocolate!

School's Cancelled!!!

Don't panic! I didn't mean school was REALLY cancelled, but by the looks of this young man in my card...I think that's the good word on the street!   Welcome again to another challenge at Top Tip Tuesday where our theme this time around is Kids/Teens.  There's a very special treat too.  One of our newest and loved members, Lisa S, has a superb tutorial on mixed media.  Some of you may be as confused as I am to what "qualifies" as mixed media, but have no fear, Lisa will put all your questions and fears to rest, so be sure to check it out and feast your eyes on her project as well. OHH, but there's more inspiration too as the wonderful TTT ladies also have their offerings for kids or teens.  Here is my card using News Kid, a freebie from Kenny K and I've tried my best to place him in a mixed media environment.  The sky is actually a gift from my dear blogger buddy Sue at Scrumplescrunch and it's dylusion inks dyed paper that I've torn and layered, brayed over with a lighter blue and then embossed snowflakes on. The trees are more recycled metal from an old tea can and decorated with metallic green acrylic paint, drops of Adirondack inks and red stickles.  The snowman is of course, built with buttons.  Hope you've enjoyed this card. :)

No Girls Allowed...

"Snips n' snails and puppy dog tails and mud and bugs and sweat."  These are a few of his favorite things, said Scratch, the adorable little boy from Saturated Canary.  This week at Dutch Dare we are challenging you to make a card for a boy!  Oh good golly, boy/masculine cards are just not something I do too often, but I stuck with it and created this little outdoor scene that I think is just perfect for Scratch. He is now in his element with animals, dirt, trees to climb and a no girls allowed tepee! 

 

The hardest part was finding the perfect backdrop for him. Trust me, I searched and searched and finally decided to create my own.  Below is the image I drew and then chalked. Once it was finished I placed a layer of clear embossing powder to avoid smudging.

 Like I said, this was a challenge for me and I had the best time creating this card. So I know that if I can do it, you can definitely do it.  So come on over and join us at Dutch Dare for our For A Boy challenge and take a look at the other fantastic creations by my teamies.

 I'm in love!

This card created itself just by looking at this super-duper adorable image,

Love At First Sight,

from Karen's Doodles. 

I've placed two circle scalloped pieces on either side of a standard circle card, added a hot pink bow and foam mounted the copic colored image.  It was perfect! Except for the fact that it kept falling over, as the larger scallop in the back was being the culprit.  So, I created the sentiment, cut it out into a banner shape and tucked two edges inside the scallop holes on the front and viola, instant stand. 

I think this could make anyone smile, but I'm hoping it makes a child smile because that is our theme this time around...

ONE FOR THE KIDS!
