Coffee Understands....

There are a few challenges happening this week and when I saw them, I knew they would be perfect together....just like coffee and cream, infused into me; via an IV line, over a period of 24/7!!
I am starting something completely NEW for me. It's like so 2001 for ya'll, I'm sure, but for me, it's brand spanking new. I'm starting a journaling book!!
No, it won't contain life altering tid bits of wisdom that I pass on to my heirs, but it will be chock-full of humorous quips that make me giggle.
So, here is my first journal page using the ever fabulous Sketch from Cardabilities and with it I have paired Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge of Coffee or Tea and Frilly and Funkie for their challenge of Something To Say.

I loved the concept of humorous quotes so much, I dove right into the pages and haven't even decorated the cover yet.
I'll just let the muse inspire when it's ready....
Biggest of hugs to you all and Happy Crafting!

Less Bitchy Pill Anyone???

Not sure what they call it in your home.
It goes by many names, but to say the very least, the characteristics are universal.
Here in our home we refer to it as 'Monster-ating.'

Sometimes projects just fall into your lap.
Circumstances, resources, and inspiration.
The joyous trifecta for unbridled creativity!!
Here's mine...

The medicinal remedy for 'monsterating'..
The Less Bitchy Pill

Thank you to Ignacio at Nicecrane Designs, I now have a steady supply of sanity at the ready.
If you feel you need to stock your home with said remedies as well, you too can find these fabulous labels, Sharing Your Recipes, here.

A little experiment with two kinds of spray paint. Frosted and Looking Glass (mirror).
Here you'll see I have 3 glasses ready to go.

The Frosted worked incredibly!
Dry within 10 minutes. Pulling off the Frog tape and rubberbands didn't hurt the glass a bit. The Looking Glass paint however, HORRID! I was so displeased with the outcome, I threw the glass away.
More practice with that later...

And just a couple more sedatives to stock my craftroom apothecary.
Chill Pills

 Happy Pills

On display...

There you have it!
A fun little way to keep your wits about you and all the while being creative...
Hugs n' Happy Crafting,
Lisa xx

Outhouses and Friends....

I have somehow managed to equate friendships to the importance of outhouses....
They each help carry the load!
Which is why when I saw this image from Rick St. Dennis' Etsy store, I knew it had to be on a card.
Here is the wonderful image Big SuR Outhouse 2013.

I hope you've enjoyed your visit and my humor. ;)

Outhouse Holiday Wishes....

I'll be honest...this is a first for me!!
I've never used an outdoor restroom to send holiday well wishes, but.....
I love a good laugh, so when I saw this image from Rick St. Dennis' Etsy shop titled Outhouse Noel 2012, I knew it had to come home with me.
The frame was cut twice and layered for sturdiness. The Outhouse Noel, colored in copics, was UTEE embossed three times for maximum gloss and then frozen in the freezer for 30 minutes, cracked and then stained.  The image is covered here so that I could stain, ink and paint the frame.
The sentiment and a little sled added for winter embellishment.
Greenery from TH Tattered Pinecone and stacked poinsettia flowers from Silhouette Cameo and hand punched snowflakes added as well.

If you're a fan of these adorable little outdoor bathrooms, you'll be thrilled to know that Rick has an entire series of them you won't want to miss.
Icons below are linked to each Rick St. Dennis store or blog.

Thank you SO much for your visit!!!
Biggest hugs and happy stamping to you!

A Little Coffee With Your Creamer??

It's always stupid o'clock when my alarm goes off.
The only thing that keeps me from transforming into a total bear is the sound of percolating coffee.
Yes, it's a repeating theme here lately on my blog, but I as I mentioned earlier, Carla has a BFF and here she is colored up in copics, the ever fabulous Morning Goddess Betty.
Like her? Love her?
She was created by the ever amazing artist
Rick St. Dennis and you can locate his entire Esty shop here.
I hope this finds you doing well and enjoying your day!
Thank you so much for the always entertaining messages you leave and your visit.
Hugs to you and happy crafting!

Do They Hang Low? Do They Travel To and Fro???

Ohhhh boy! I know what you're thinking!!
"What on earth is Lisa singing about ears for???" Hee hee :)
Well good news...I'm not.
I'm referring to.....

Baker's Twine!!!!

That's right, twine. Over at the ever fabulous
our very own sensational Lisa S. is hosting this go around challenge of
Spooled Items!

So I figured why not make a cute little organizational box of Kraft paper spools to hold my twine spares.  Then when I saw this audacious and over the top fun image from QKR Stampede called Old Lady, with the spools of hair rollers on her head, I just knew I had to pull it all together somehow.

Come on over and enjoy the fun and share with us a project that you've made that has incorporated something that comes from a spool. For example, ribbon, twine, wire, etc...
While you're there, submit your entry for the opportunity to win a prize from our sponsors, QKR Stampede and Bugaboo Stamps and don't forget to leave a TIP!

Thanks so much for your visit!

Thursday Giggle....

Children's Sermon

A Baptist pastor was presenting a children's sermon. During the
sermon, he asked the children if they knew what the resurrection was.
Now, asking questions during children's sermons is crucial, but at the
same time, asking children questions in front of a congregation can
also be very dangerous.

Having asked the children if they knew the meaning of the
resurrection, a little boy raised his hand........

The pastor called on him and the little boy said, "I know that if you have a resurrection
that lasts for more than four hours you are supposed to call the doctor."

It took over ten minutes for the congregation to settle down enough for the service to continue.

It's another rainy day here, so I thought I'd post up a funny email I received yesterday to brighten the day.
A little card I did too. :)
Hugs n' Happy Stamping,

Figure 8 Easter Egg Hunt....

I couldn't resist making this Easter card with a little humor in the mix.
The fun challenge this week at Top Tip Tuesday is Girls and Boys Come Out to Play!
Firstly, I realize that Easter is now over, but for me, I'm accustomed to it being in April and secondly, I'm not accustomed to it being in snow! SO...I thought it would be comical to make this little cutie skating on ice as she's searching for the hidden treasures o' chocolate!
Thank you to our sponsor Kenny K for supplying me with these images too.

Ice was created using this combination: copics B00, BG10, W3,W1, C2, and Glossy Accents
Snow tops the homemade flowers and ice using Snow-Tex

Thank you so much for your visit!

Tuesday's ROFL...

I hope this finds you all doing well and at least a bit better than the poor subject in my card!  I'm hosting for the next two weeks at Top Tip Tuesday and the theme I've chosen is ROFL. I'd love to see your humorous and quirky cards. We sure would love a great laugh so please come visit and make us LOL or Roll On the Floor Laughing!  This hilarious image is from QKR Stampede titled, One Of Those Days.  The card was designed using the current Mojo Monday sketch and the elements I've used (newspaper, crossword puzzles and toilet paper) are all items you'd find in the 'throne room.'
Thanks so much for popping in!

Flirtin' With Furniture...

Oh snap! I did it again. As serious as I may try to be, there's just something so fun about these terrific images at Dr. Digi's House of Stamps, you can't contain the comical outbursts.   Here is a very clean and simple card using the wonderful Armchair image from the Bits n' Bobs section at the Dr.'s Store and a little flirty love note written on my PC.
I think it makes a for a fun masculine card for Valentine's Day. What say ye?
Thanks so much for your visit and ya'll have a great one!

Kiss Me You Fool!

Take a little trip with me through retro TV Land and imagine yourself sitting in a classroom. As you look around, you see 'Greasers' everywhere and Afros are the stylin' hairdo.  The teacher approaches the blackboard and writes, "Who dislikes making masculine cards?" Suddenly from behind you, you hear..."Ooh Ooh Ooh, Mr. Kotter-r-r-r, pick me, pick me!!"  That's right, I'm sitting right behind you playing the role of the lovable Arnold Horshack.
What is it about masculine cards that cause my brain to seize up? Well, it's several factors, but for the sake of not dragging this post out further, I'd like to share my contribution to the world of manly-man cards and a fun little tip too.
This week at Our Creative Corner, I will be hosting and the theme I have selected is Make Mine Mushy!  There is a little twist, I've also designed a sketch to use. Here's the skinny...
Create a Valentine card using the sketch below
The sketch can be rotated and we need to be able to see all the elements from the original sketch, but used however you like. Follow it exactly or alter it as long as all elements are present.
Now let me show you a closeup of one of the elements....
Want a fun tip to add more texture to your masculine cards?
Well then, I mustache you to read the following picture....
So there you go...It's almost Valentine's Day and now you have a sketch to work with, some goofy inspiration, a little nostalgia from times past and if you step over to Our Creative Corner, you'll find even more outstanding motivation from my team.  Just remember, MAKE MINE MUSHY!!

Hugs n' Happy Crafting,

He REALLY exists.....

Now don't go fainting on me ya'll....but you might want to sit down for this one!
Dr. Digi's House of Stamps has created the, I'm getting light headed just getting ready to type it, the PERFECT man!!  Forget you Fabio with your bulging biceps and long wavy mane of immaculate hair and a six pack that won't quit, you ain't got nothing compared to Derek here.  I wasn't sure I'd live long enough to see the day, but here he is in all his glory.  The 'honey do' checklist completed and a bucket o' chocolate at the ready! There won't be any sleeping on the couch for this studly hubby tonight.
Wouldn't this be the perfect card for a man to give to his special squeeze?
Hope you've enjoyed meeting Dunderton Decorators Ltd from Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.
Thank you so much for your very appreciated visit.
Hugs n' Happy Creating,

Love Potion #9

After years of suggesting that they needed to spice up their love life, Nina finally gives in.  She tells her man to go wait in the bedroom and play the role of the poor sick patient and the nurse will be right in to make it all better.  Judging by the look on her face and the size of that needle, Mr. Man Flu is probably wishing he'd just kept his mouth shut.
Turn and cough sweetie and when you're done, this will only hurt A LOT!
I know, I know, it's not the "traditional" Valentine's Day card, BUT, when you combine the amazing digital stamp Man Flu with Night Nurse Nina, it just makes sense that it should be a silly celebration of love.
Thank you goes out to Dr. Digi's House of Stamps for creating the most wonderful interactive images that allow for tons of fun and a little quirkiness.
Stop on by his store and see for yourself!

Enjoy Your Day (For a Female)

Ohhh she's living the life!
Meet the lovely Deirdery on her day off....and boy is she living it up.
Tall glass of Long Island Iced Tea and her ittsy bitsy polka dot not a bikini, beside the lovely umbrella that's keeping the sun from frizzing her newly done hairdo.   Pedro, the handsome young pool boy has just stepped away to make her some lunch.
I designed this card to be fitting for so many different occasions like, birthday, retirement, yeah-you won the lottery, etc.  Thank you to Dr. Digi's House of Stamps for producing this gorgeous pool side diva!
So happy you popped in!
Deirdery nodded off for a little nap while she waits for her luxurious lunch, but I'll be sure to tell her you stopped in. :)

but he'll be taking a little ice cream break real quick while he recovers from inflating all his floaties!

Eventually dear Mr. Aquatic will be in the water!
Stop on by Dr. Digi's House of Stamps and see what's new in the shop and then be sure to come back, because I'm certain Ambrose will be performing amazing acts of greatness in his kiddie pool.

You Turn Me On...

I'm sort of moving a bit fast forward on the holidays here, but thought a change of pace from making Christmas cards would be nice, so we're visiting another favorite holiday of mine, Valentine's Day.  For those of us who enjoy making cards for our main squeezes, but find it difficult to make it 'masculine', I'm hoping this offers you some worthy inspiration.  It's a bit grungy with a hint of flirty fun.
This card would not have been possible were it not for the cool little section over at Dr. Digi's House of Stamps, titled Bits n' Bobs.  Dr. Digi himself has offered up a collection of singular 'prop' images to use however your creativity sees fit.  The image I selected is none other than the Lamp, which I have paper pieced the lampshades.
The card didn't start out this way. It was by mere frustration with the original design that I tore off the first attempt and what was left remaining was this tattered musical sheet and it was PERFECT!  See the wording that remained in tact? Golden light...lamp?...awesome!
No card is ever complete without a little gift of love and appreciation, so I mimicked the card by decorating the box likewise.
Again, tearing the sheet music, bottom right you'll notice the words, "home in my heart." I know right? Go ahead, you can say it... "Awwwww."
And to replicate the flirty fun, I found this vintage light bulb ad and added a sentiment from another add.
Hope you've enjoyed seeing this card and it's given you some ideas for making a Valentine card for your "Shmooky Pooky Woo-Woo Teddy Bear".. or whatever you call them. LOL!
Stop on by and say hi and check out the Bits n' Bobs and whatnot's, you won't be disappointed!

Hugs n' Happy Stamping,
Lisa xx
