Remember When......

Remember when you couldn't wait to grow up?!
It was like wearing a badge of pride when you said,  "I'm (this many fingers up) and a half!"
Now I'd like to freeze time or back peddle, back peddle, back peddle..
When I started this challenge, I had no idea where it was going; except that it had to have blue in it and mixed media elements.  Once I colored up the vintage boy/man clown, the rest is... well, driven by childhood nostalgia.
So thank you Mixed Media Card Challenge...it's been fun!
And here's my completed card.....
Here's to aging, but never quite maturing...

Tuesday's ROFL...

I hope this finds you all doing well and at least a bit better than the poor subject in my card!  I'm hosting for the next two weeks at Top Tip Tuesday and the theme I've chosen is ROFL. I'd love to see your humorous and quirky cards. We sure would love a great laugh so please come visit and make us LOL or Roll On the Floor Laughing!  This hilarious image is from QKR Stampede titled, One Of Those Days.  The card was designed using the current Mojo Monday sketch and the elements I've used (newspaper, crossword puzzles and toilet paper) are all items you'd find in the 'throne room.'
Thanks so much for popping in!

Enforcer Ted the Valentine Bear???

It's happening all around the world.  Valentine shops are reporting assaults one right after the other.  Billions of dollars are spent each year on Dung Beetle research, yet these poor overlooked, disgruntled and mutilated  stuffed animals are not being helped, they are finally fighting back.  It began harmlessly as small unattended children would grab a stuffed animal off the shelf and play with it while the parents shopped. Time and time again, being picked off the shelf, played with, and then returned; resulting in broken threads, dangling eyes, and stuffing oozing out.  Holiday after holiday passes and these poor misshapen, semi-fluffy, worn out animals are being rejected and neglected as Valentine gifts.
Sources close to me say that a revolution is brewing. Apparently it all started at a nearby Hallmark where an irate and  envious bear, who goes by the name, Enforcer Ted, has started a movement called, TR2AB, The Right 2 Arm Bears.  Government officials are closing in on the gun cartel that is providing these weapons, but until then, we can all do our part.
Thanks to Dr. Digi's House of Stamps and this very depicting representation, we can all share in the responsibility of being upstanding citizens and not only help the innocent victims who are being threatened to purchase said bears, but by being aware and sensitive to the needs of these poor unfortunate toys.
When you're out shopping for your loved one for Valentine's Day, don't just grab the chocolate and flowers, but find it in your heart to give these sad and disheveled critters a nice and loving home.  It's much more satisfying than a whelp on the forehead from a .45.

Hugs n' Happy Stamping and be safe out there!
(no humans or stuffed animals were harmed in the making of this post)

Lonely This Christmas?

I've officially made a total of three, yes count them, 1-2-3, Christmas cards so far this year. I mean to tell you, I'm on the ball!!  Ummm, speaking of that...here is the latest (blushes).
We're opening up another linky party over at Make It Monday and this is the card I'm subjecting everyone to over there..LOL! Oh those poor innocent bystanders.   This hysterical image is from our newest sponsor Dr. Digi's House of Stamps (check them out on Facebook too) and taking center stage is the one and only Lonely This Christmas.  I couldn't find an adequate sentiment fitting enough for this scene so I've typed up my own on the PC.
We'd love for you to join us over at Make It Monday and while you're there, please check out the other outrageously comical cards from my teammates.
Now for my....
I found this card very striking. It has a CAS feel to it, but there's really quite a challenge behind it all.  Skye completed this card using a square punch and I love the outcome. What a sensational Christmas card with a beautifully decorated tree!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us at Make It Monday Skye :)

Thank you so much for stopping in and all your terrific comments :)

Putting "Fun" in Dysfunctional...

Don't you just love the expression on her face? This adorable lady is the work of Lynne Stansbery from Squigglefly titled, Did Someone Say Facelift? However, the expression alone led me an entirely different direction and I've included this hilarious sentiment from Ginger's House
If you're up for a layering challenge, we have that very thing happening over at the Squigglefly challenge blog, so bring us your best of the best layering and WOW us with your creativity!  While you're there, you won't want to miss out on the other DT's fabulously layered cards as well.
Thank you so much for stopping in today and a very warm welcome to my latest followers.  I hope you all leave here with a smile.

Triple Layer Dip Challenge

Inside reads - 'Thanks for putting the "fun" back in dysfunctional!'

Extremely Odd Christmas Card....

BUT,
if you know me,
what else would you expect?
As a matter of fact, I've recently been nicknamed "Quirky"
and I am SO very honored.
So, thank you, Onion. :)

I think I'm definitely ready to move on from making Christmas cards, but as soon as I saw this free image from
Karen's Doodles called Sitting Turkey,
my brain went and did its usual thing.

My (almost last I hope) Christmas Card???

Karen's Doodles is having a recipe challenge that requires 3 embellishments, 2 papers and 1 image.

I've chosen 2 papers from Stampin' Up!
Embellishments are the sign, the neck tie and the flowery ensemble at the bottom and this adorable image colored in Copics, from Karen's Doodles.

 My twisted humor
Typed on my PC
I decided to name the turkey Jake because it rhymed with plate and the irony of this little guy is that he knows he's the long awaited gift at the dinner table!

I also layered Jake's head and feet with foam dots.

The end!

DOH! One more thing...
Another funny that my husband sent me...LOL
He knows me so well...hahaha!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and thanks so much for stopping in!

Hugs and Happy Stamping,

Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Mo....

Bears & Boxes & Bows, Oh my!
I must say, this little cub is showing great restraint with the abundance of presents in his midst.
I found this digital image, Gifts Galore in the Bronson and Beaker collection, to be quite adorable.
Certainly a reminder for myself that such patience can be attainable.
It's also, quite to my benefit, reassuring that there are no tangible bits of photographic evidence to reveal of my children rounding the staircase only to find their mother's pajama clad derriere peeking out from under the branches of the Christmas Tree.
I was simply ensuring that all presents were properly sealed and labeled...I swear!
And if they say differently, I will plead that thingy that you can plead and hastily retreat.

Now on to the great and more great news...
Today is another wonderful link up at
Make It Monday!!!!
With our extremely generous Sponsor
Who is offering the winner 5 single digital images of their choice!

You'll be amazed by the inspiration of all the DT's and most importantly,
the outstanding crafters from all around the world who "Oh WOW" us everyday!

Take for example my
PICK OF THE WEEK!
I absolute love ALL kinds of Christmas cards because there are so many amazing holiday embellishments that one can include on the card, but this clean and simple and elegant card really caught my eye.
Not to say that other's didn't, they were ALL incredible and the choice was not made easily, but this card just called out to me.
If you're in a pinch for time, but scoff at the thought of, I dare say it, "buying" your cards,
this is perfect for time management, beauty, holiday wishes, and handmade, all rolled into one!
Take a gander at her card and get a giggle too!
Thank you Zoe, from This Little Place, for all the inspiration.

NOW...(If you're still hanging in here with me)...
I get to help make the really great announcement that's had me doing a dance, quite like the potty dance, but a more dignified and big girl version.
We have a brand spankin' new DT to welcome to our crew of ladies at
Make It Monday and here she is....

Krafty Karen!!!
(And the crowd goes wild!)
She's certainly NOT new to these stomping grounds, as she's been an EVER devoted commenter and participant in the challenge link ups, but it's so nice to actually get to harass, I mean work, with her and all the other incredibly funny and creative ladies at
Welcome aboard, Karen!

Season's Greetings
Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you've found a smile somewhere in this post...
But just incase you haven't, here's a little cartoon my husband sent me.  He's always sending me funny images to encourage my doodling imagination, plus, it's right up my twisted humor alley.
Hugs and Happy Stamping,
Lisa xx

When Hallmark can't...

I was reading through the latest articles of a popular stamping magazine,
truly enjoying all the inspiration it offered,
when it struck me...
"These are amazing cards; however, what about cards for genuinely awkward moments?"

Yes, you're about to get a further glimpse into my brain.

Hallmark's motto is "When you care to send the very best..."
But, what happens when Hallmark doesn't have a card to fit the situation?

Take for example,
Scenario 1:  "Oh my gosh, you look adorable...When are you due?"
(She'd had the baby 2 weeks ago)
or
"I saw John out with Susie the other day...Why didn't you tell me you broke up?"
(She was not aware that they had )

Insert the perfect card here...

Foot In Mouth

Scenario 2:  One of a parent's worst nightmares
and probably not the highlight of the child's life either...
But wouldn't it ease the tension a bit if you received this heartfelt handmade card
rather than a phone call?

OOPS!

Scenario 3:  Man to Man Manly cards are quite difficult to procure.
It seems as though the market is geared towards women and their need to express sympathy and sentiments to others.
I believe there's an untapped avenue for cards that express a man's thoughts.
Take this for example...

Manly Man Sympathy

And lastly,
Scenario 4:  I had a t-shirt airbrushed to share this,
but a homemade card would be perfect as well.

Unexpected Surprises

I do hope that the journey into my brain has not offended,
but there is true sincerity behind this post.
Sometimes life can throw some curve balls and when Hallmark can't...
a handmade card can!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog...
