Remember When......

Remember when you couldn't wait to grow up?!
It was like wearing a badge of pride when you said,  "I'm (this many fingers up) and a half!"
Now I'd like to freeze time or back peddle, back peddle, back peddle..
When I started this challenge, I had no idea where it was going; except that it had to have blue in it and mixed media elements.  Once I colored up the vintage boy/man clown, the rest is... well, driven by childhood nostalgia.
So thank you Mixed Media Card Challenge...it's been fun!
And here's my completed card.....
Here's to aging, but never quite maturing...

Cute As a Button and They Live in a Shoe....

Buttons and Shoes, buttons and shoes, what to do with buttons and shoes?? Well, if they are icky old brown buttons, you can make these fabby little button holders using the latest
Vintage Children Book Covers from Nicecrane Designs
Here is how the holders came to be....
Then the transformation of the buttons....

I could have kept going with the buttons, but I couldn't wait to get coloring these wonderful little bears from Ignacio's shop called, Easter Teddy Bears.

And they live in shoe. A vintage pink baby shoe....
Happy as can be and ready for Easter!
Again, all these adorable images can be found @
Thank you so much for your visit.

A REALLY Love-REALLY Hate Kinda Valentine Thing....

Hate might be too strong a word, but loath, abhor and dread are runner's up.  Now I'm not referring to love or the celebration of love, I'm referring to making tags.  If you want to see a grown woman throw a full on tantrum; sit me in a chair and tell me that I have to make a tag.
I could admire other people's tags all freaking day long and well past the cows having come home, but making my own gives me a butt pucker of 10.
So what did I do yesterday?  I decided to combine one of my favorite things with one of my least favorite things and see how it went.

A favorite thing - Kewpies
Step 2
Still having fun because I'm just playing with colors, inks and sticky things....
And then the (gasp) tag!
I decided that in order to keep the hyperventilating to a minimum, I'd start from the beginning of Tim Holtz 1st book Compendium of Curiosities I and re-learn and practice the techniques. Here I used Wrinkle Free Distress (pg.33), Scribble Stain Distress (pg.34), and Double Distress- brick wall (pg.40).
And here is the finished tag.
In the end, it made me smile so I cut that very word out and now it's on my shelf for a Valentine gift to me :)
Yeah to persistence overpowering belligerence!

"Don't Forget Your Mittens...."

Do remember hearing those words growing up? Or maybe, "Those aren't decorations. Button that coat up!" or even, "Did you forget pants again?"  No?? You never heard that one? Maybe I was just the only forgetful child.  Anyway, now that I'm older and wiser, I've remembered my mittens!

A set of six mitten shaped cards all hosting the most precious retro images from Nicecrane Designs
This set comes with 3 sheets of fabulous retro images and ALL for a super great price!!
I'll let you go now and check out his wonderful store.

Visions of Sugarplums Giveaways Day 4

Ho! Ho! Ho! and welcome back to the 4th day of fun as we continue to celebrate festive traditions, crafts, recipes and giveaways at Visions of Sugarplums!
Guess what? I have another giveaway for one lucky winner and this time I am offering up domino ornaments.  Here's how they were made.
Took some wire and wrapped the domino then covered it with Mod Podge and wrapped in music sheets and aged with DI's.
Printed out all the elements that I wanted for each ornament.  These are a set of Mr. and Mrs. Claus that you get to pick out the outfit and dress them. They are each accompanied by a vintage deer, tree, bag of goodies and a free printable of naughty or nice tags.
Here's a few closeups. One with Santa all dressed up and one with Santa in his thermals.

Drive In Date Night

Okay, so Gone With The Wind made its debut in 1939; however, it's held its romance and popularity through the generations. Therefore, it only makes sense for a young couple in the 1950's to enjoy this classic movie in a classic car while at the Drive In Theater.
This is my DT card for Make It Monday and a huge thank you to our sponsor, Digi My World for providing the awesome digital image, 50's Drive In.
I had a little fun with the big screen as well as inserting a black and white image of a couple actually sitting in the car, with love quotes, of course!
We'd really love for you to pop on over to Make It Monday and share your latest and greatest makes OR share with us something that you made awhile ago.
While you're there, please check out the fabulous works of my teammates and see who their Pick Of The Weeks are.
Speaking of that....
I cheated and picked two!
Absolutely LOVE these amazingly designed holders.  Fantastic ideas ladies and incredibly inspiring.
Thank you BOTH for sharing them with us at Make It Monday
