Will They Get the Hint?

When your significant other comes through the door and you're not sporting your finest sweats and comfy t-shirt, the kids are out the house, and the aspirin bottle isn't sitting on the counter...will they get the hint?
If not, maybe this little card will do the trick!
The challenge over at
Top Tip Tuesday is to make
One For The Men!
Does it need to be suggestive? Absolutely not, just what you perceive to be masculine.  I just thought it would be fun to make a flirty card with earthy masculine textures.

I've embossed Kraft cardstock with a wood textured plate and added green, grey and brown ink. A slathering of Tim Holtz crackle paint and once dry, chipped away pieces with an X-ACTO knife.  A strip of elastic was sewn in the center of some burlap and this flipped and duplicated image of a bunny from Free Vintage Digital Stamps as the focal point along with the sentiment typed on my PC in a little banner.  Some moss was added under the bunnies for a little "manly" greenery.

There are so many wonderful takes on this masculine theme, so be sure to visit and see how the other talented ladies interpreted this challenge.  Also at our mid-week post, enjoy the fabulous tutorial from Katrina on how to make a Bind It All Book!
We have some sad and some happy news also at Top Tip Tuesday happening today.  Our wonderful owner of the blog, Leanne, is stepping down to pursue other interests and has handed over the reigns to Samantha and Carol to co-own.  We will miss Leanne VERY much and wish her the very best in her future!  To soften the sadness of her leaving we are also welcoming two NEW DT's to our little family. Lisa S. and Jennifer Scull are now going to be mesmerizing us all with their incredibly inventive stamping skills.  Welcome aboard ladies!!!

Thank you so much for your visit. I always love when you stop by.

Confusing? Exactly!

Please take a moment to look at the cover of this card and decipher the cryptic message...
(I'll hum the Jeopardy theme song while you look)
Okay, time's up! Did you figure it out?
For those of you still scratching your heads, let's go on a little trip through my brain.  Some of you have already been introduced to the inner workings of my noggin' and know what to expect.  However, for the newbies, I'd just like to make this announcement:
"Please keep your hands and feet in the ride at all times!"

And we're off...
Soooo, this is the card I've designed for my dad.  He doesn't like to read instructions, nor will he stop to ask for directions; therefore, I had to make a card that incorporated BOTH of those 'endearing' qualities that I find so completely baffling.  The hardware represents the times he decided to assemble a project; directions must have been sold separately, because they are absolutely NOWHERE to be found.  Inevitably there are always extra pieces (even more than the allotted 'extras') when it's finished.
The twine wrapped around the hardware represents a map.  One must follow the map to deduce the message.  I'm pretty sure he'll just meander aimlessly over the card and notice the pretty pictures!  Which is why I talked myself out of using papers with maps for fear that he wouldn't even pick the thing up!

Okay, now that you've traveled this far,
Take another look and see if you can figure out the message.
Each image, free from the fabulous Pamela at Free Vintage Digital Stamps and Graphics Fairy, was specifically picked to relay,  in a rather complex and confusing manner (resembling the aforementioned "endearing' qualities), a very simple message.

I've included the message on the inside....
Did you get it?
Okay, that's my card and I thought I should probably explain the inner workings of my thought process just so you're not left going..."what the..huh?"
I hope my dad appreciates the fun jab as much as I appreciate him!

Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you've enjoyed the visit and my wacky, weird and quirky brain.

One Is Never Enough...

When it comes to vintage digital stamps, I can't stop making them.  I love the versatility and the style.  You can change the size, the color, mix and match, leave them black and white or color them in and they all look so wonderful.  Which is why I chose this venue for our current challenge at
Craft Us Crazy; which is
FAVORITE STAMP COMPANY and/or FOUND INSPIRATION!
My favorite inspiration has to be vintage images and I've chosen to use images provided by the lovely Pamela at Free Vintage Digital Stamps.  Here they are...

Beautiful You
The sentiment I designed on the PC and then printed it onto the cardstock.  Added the gorgeous free face image mounted over an embossed oval frame.  Placed this over the wonderful Be Mine paper from echo park, a lovely gift from Cathy over at Cathy's Creative Place ...thank you!!!  A pink bow and flower in her hair and there you have it, a fun and quirky card for a special female in your life.

 Little Reader
What a blast it was to make this little card.  I fell in love with this free vintage cutie.  Decided to only partially color the image, highlighting the little girl.  I needed some background writing paper and found this in a set of free downloadable vintage paper kit from Far Far Hill.    The library card is also a freebie from a set of four to choose from and they can be found here.  Stamped the sentiment from Kindness Matters and the pen tip from Established Elegance, both stamp sets from Stampin' Up! Finished up with a sheer blue bow and she's ready for the mail!

I Really Do
This particular card is self-explanatory.  I love free olives and quirkiness, you may have noticed that about me by now and so I designed a little card around them.  The papers are again from echo park, Be Mine 6x6 pad.  The olives are colored copics.    I thought a fairly direct and fun little card.
So, that's the trio, because one is never enough...

The Trio

There you have it, my favorite inspiration and now it's your turn to show us what inspires you!

Bling Your Ring-a-ling...

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy....
I am jumping up and down about the new challenge happening over at
Are you ready for this? You sure? Okay, here it is...
ANYTHING BUT A CARD!!!
I know, right!!  How freakin' cool is that?
Plus, there's a totally groovy tutorial from our very own hysterically funny and talented, Carol!
....could it get any better than that?

Okay, so let's get right down to business...here's what I decided to do for this challenge.  I blinged my ring, with paper no less.  My phone is purple, and I do love purple, but the other day I was rummaging through a drawer and found the plastic case to my blackberry and I almost pitched it! GASP...I know, you'd think I'd of learned by now to save, save, save...but I was in one of those cyclone cleaning modes, luckily I had a moment of clarity and put it back.  SO glad I did.  When I read this challenge was coming up I couldn't wait to start this project.  I'm not proud, I would have dumpster dived trying to retrieve this, but what a relief I didn't have to.

Here's what I did.
Measuring the plastic case, I approximated a rectangle of 3.25" (8.3 cm)  x 4.25" (10.8 cm)
Opened up Microsoft Word and inserted a background paper, here I've used a free wood grain paper from Stamp TV, and then sized it down to the above measurements.
Inserted these free vintage pictures that I love from Graphics Fairy (retro ladies talking) and Free Vintage Digital Stamps (pointing hand) and the female hand with phone (unknown origin) over the wood grain paper.  Lastly, inserted the talking bubble shapes and wrote the convo inside of them.
Printed and cut the image out and rounded the corners with a punch.
Placed the picture inside of the plastic case and with a pencil, traced where the openings needed to be cut for the button access and then cut the openings. (Don't look too closely, they aren't the cleanest cuts.)
Popped that bad boy back in there and viola! Le new decorated phone case.
For just a bit more appeal, I printed out a second page of the image and then removed the plastic cover on the front of the phone, traced it and cut out a little bling for the front as well.
The image is a picture I took at the mall, while shopping for Converse for my son.  We compared a baby shoe to his current shoe...size 13!  Sniff, sniff....they grow up too fast.
Thank you to our extremely generous Sponsors for hosting the prizes for this challenge.
$25.00 to spend in their store...WOW!
 4 stamps of their choice...WOOHOO!
(clicking images will take you to their stores)
Here is the image I created and free for the taking if you're interested.
Thank you SO much for stopping by and I do hope you've been inspired by this cell phone vintage revamp.  We'd sure love to see what you create that is NOT a card too.  Stop in and enter your 'WOW...that's AMAZING" creation with us at Top Tip Tuesday.

Hugs and Happy Creating...

You Tickle Me...

Hello to you!
I mustache you a question..... ha!
I've seen that phrase so many times and as much as I love it, I wanted to try and come up with a new one for this fantastic mustache.  I know mustaches are extremely popular again and you find them everywhere.  Saw a huge one on a punch bug just yesterday.
This fantastic one comes from Pamela at Free Vintage Digital Stamps as well as the striped black and white paper and the vintage advertisement paper.
I figured since it's a man's facial hair, I'd try to go for masculine textures.  The YOU tags are hanging from a scrunched bunch of brown crepe paper that I picked up for 50 cents at the Dollar Store.  The YOU letters and the Scrabble letters free from {Computer}Scrapbook.com.  The word ME are wood letters I tea stained and covered with TH Crackle.

Sure would love it if you visited and shared your work with us at
for our weekly open linky party!

And our sponsor for this week is
K 'n K Designs offering the winner
3 digis from their store!

Before you go, I'd like to share my
PICK OF THE WEEK!
Yes! It's true, I've picked this stunning container of Broccoli Cheddar Soup! One, because I do love this sort of soup and two, because I love recycling and third, but most importantly, because you won't believe what Darlene at
Dar's Crafty Creations has done to it!
No, I'm not showing you here, you'll have to click the link and see for yourself.  I know, I'm a stinker!
Darlene, thank you so much for your creativity and inspiration and for sharing it with us at Make It Monday.
I'll never look at Broccoli Cheddar Soup the same, ever again!

I can't thank you enough for all the amazing inspiration that I gain from all of you from your comments to your blogs and your creativity.  I truly appreciate your visits here.
Hope you have a tremendous week and I look forward to stopping by and visiting your work as well.
