One Is Never Enough...

When it comes to vintage digital stamps, I can't stop making them.  I love the versatility and the style.  You can change the size, the color, mix and match, leave them black and white or color them in and they all look so wonderful.  Which is why I chose this venue for our current challenge at

Craft Us Crazy; which is

FAVORITE STAMP COMPANY and/or FOUND INSPIRATION! 

My favorite inspiration has to be vintage images and I've chosen to use images provided by the lovely Pamela at Free Vintage Digital Stamps.  Here they are...

Beautiful You

The sentiment I designed on the PC and then printed it onto the cardstock.  Added the gorgeous free face image mounted over an embossed oval frame.  Placed this over the wonderful Be Mine paper from echo park, a lovely gift from Cathy over at Cathy's Creative Place ...thank you!!!  A pink bow and flower in her hair and there you have it, a fun and quirky card for a special female in your life.

 Little Reader

What a blast it was to make this little card.  I fell in love with this free vintage cutie.  Decided to only partially color the image, highlighting the little girl.  I needed some background writing paper and found this in a set of free downloadable vintage paper kit from Far Far Hill.    The library card is also a freebie from a set of four to choose from and they can be found here.  Stamped the sentiment from Kindness Matters and the pen tip from Established Elegance, both stamp sets from Stampin' Up! Finished up with a sheer blue bow and she's ready for the mail!

I Really Do

This particular card is self-explanatory.  I love free olives and quirkiness, you may have noticed that about me by now and so I designed a little card around them.  The papers are again from echo park, Be Mine 6x6 pad.  The olives are colored copics.    I thought a fairly direct and fun little card.

Bouquet For Mom...

Well, it's time again for another 2 week challenge and

I have for you today, this fairly CAS card designed for our theme at

CRAFT US CRAZY; which is...

MOTHER'S DAY and or FLOWERS

I've made three paper spiral flowers and two foil flowers and one ribbon flower then added a wire stem wrapped in floral tape.  Tied a little bow around it and added the Mom tag.  The tag and card are both scored for a little more interest to the white cardstock. 

I hope this has inspired you to join us with your creative ideas and show us what you come up with for our theme.  I know Mother's Day has already been celebrated in other parts of the world, but flowers are ALWAYS popular on cards so hop on over and share your creations with us!

From Sniffles To Stickles....

Altered Tissue Box

You all have really made my days with your wonderful comments and I thank you so much and welcome to my latest followers as well.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!!  I'm still on a mission to finish my projects for April and I think I will be done tomorrow with them all...WOO HOO! With that said, I'll be able to just sit back and relax and visit you all and thoroughly enjoy all of your wonderful crafting! You've been warned, I will be stalking and commenting VERY soon! :) I can hardly wait.  Anyway, here's another ditty I've been up to...

Where our theme for two weeks is...

ALTERED ITEM AND/OR ANYTHING BUT A CARD

Here is my original tissue box that I started with

 I covered the box with my designer paper, slapped some acrylic blue and white paint over the top and allowed it to dry.  With a 3"x 3" white piece of cardstock, I punched a 1" hole and used this for the template to place the Stickles.  After cutting out the circles with an X-ACTO knife, I painted the inside with matching acrylics as well.

With the addition of a gorgeous butterfly and a few roses and the wooden letters that spell CREATE and one last handmade blue flower, the project was done!

I really love this little altered piece because now I can actually see the colors of the stickles, instead of being in a bucket and constantly pulling them out to find the right color.  SO happy with this stickles organizer.

Inspirational Photo

Hello you wonderful crafty people! 

Puzzled by the title of this post?  As you can see, there are no photos of food here, but I'll explain.  Below is the picture that Craft Us Crazy is using for their current challenge and what a challenge it was for me.  That's a good thing!  When I first saw this bedroom set, I thought it was completely over the top, but the longer I looked at it, it started to make more sense.  The boldness of the bedspread and curtains, the subtle scored lines in the white headboard, the soft pink hues of the paint on the walls, the bold blue spurts of color in the pillow and whatever that wonky shaped thing is on the nightstand, it all really works together. It's fun, youthful, unrestrained and it just makes you smile.

That's great for a bedroom, but a card???

I began the card with only a large white scalloped base and then my mojo slammed on the brakes. (Dang washing machine just beeped at me...be right back; does laundry ever end?)..........

Okay! I'm back, 15 loads done and only 40 more to go. Blah! If you've followed my blog for a while, you've probably noticed that I mention my disdain for this particular domestic task quite often.  It would hands down have to be my least favorite chore.  A funny side note story to laundry. It has become a conversation starter when friends come over and see my laundry room and they always ask the same question. "Ummm, Can I ask why you have a picture of Jesus hanging above your washer and dryer?"  And my reply is always, "Well, I love that picture and the inspiration that I receive daily from looking at it.  I figure, why not hang it somewhere where I'll see it ALL the time and where am I usually at? In the laundry room! And who better to give me strength than him in the place that I need it the most!"

Now, back to the card.

This wonderful little dragonfly image is from our Sponsor, Robyn's Fetish and is called It's a Dragonfly Day. I colored this with a combination of Copics; of which I never write down, I apologize. 

So I have the blank white base and this image and that's all I had.  I had to start somewhere, so I decided to tackle the craziest element of the photo first, those multicolored stripes.

Miraculously, I had a fabulous little book of papers that I received from Audrey in a blog candy and so essentially, credit goes to her for saving the day!  The striped paper comes from the 6x6 Paper Pad, Country Drive, from Echo Park.  

After placing on the paper, things just went nuts!  

Just add more butter? Here's the reason for that.  With the groovy paper atop the base and the image, things were starting to look a bit better, but not great.  I really wanted to grasp the feel of the photo; however, I wasn't close, yet. That's when I realized that the television in the living room was playing The Food Network Channel and one of my favorite cooks is Paula Dean.  Talk about over the top, she's a riot, ya'll!  It seemed as though fate had intervened and right then Paula said, "Ya know what, ya'll? When I'm cooking and I like something I'm making, but I don't quite LOVE it yet...I add more butter!"  DING, DING, DING...the light went on in my head and the metaphorical measuring cups came out.

This card will NEVER fit into an envelope, lets just say that.  There is so much  oleo on this thing and now I just LOVE it!

I've scored lines around the main image to represent the head board and decorative wall, added a pink banner for the painted walls and the topping of lard was the blue yarn pom pom I made to represent the pillow and that still unknown object on the nightstand.

So, that's my crazy journey to make one card.

Here is my project created from recycled items...

As I mentioned before in my New Year's Eve post, I'm not a fan of making resolutions, but after reading so many incredible blogs, I've been inclined to jump on the bandwagon and start using objects that normally I would take to the recycling.

To start this project's journey, I was given the opportunity to use an image from Stamp Fairy called Donna and Donny 4

I wasn't sure how to color them, but a talented fellow blogger suggested I use flocking powder.     Brilliant idea!  Thank you, Mitralee.

So I did, and I stink at applying it.  After the third attempt, it turned out pretty good though and I'm pleased with the outcome.

The journal book is cardboard from a cereal box and all other embellishments are either from my old stash or scraps.  I also went a bit Tim Holtz bonkers and doused everything with his products.

The concept of this project looked a lot cuter in my head and now that I see it, it appears I have caged two very scared bears.  

I hope you are able to look past the "trapping" and see the vision that I was going for...
