Sketchin' It Up...

Movie Date
I was asked to create a sketch for the challenge this time at Top Tip Tuesday and I had so much fun designing them I couldn't stop, so I made two!  This card is based off of sketch 1 and  thanks to one of our Sponsors,  Karen's Doodles, I decided to use Movie Date as the theme.  I've colored only certain aspects of the image, keeping focus on the location; the theater.  I think they turned out pretty cute keeping them black and white.  The additional sketch elements are free downloads that I printed and cut out from clker.com.  A few additional stickle dots and a couple of tickets from the Tim Holtz tag collection and I've got a great invitation for a date night out!

Layered Sketch 1

Before I go on to show you my card for sketch 2,
just want to remind you that we now run our challenges for two (2) weeks, plus we've added the additional chance to win a prize half way through.  If your entry is chosen as the WOWEE,  did you see that?  It really CAUGHT OUR EYE, pick...
You win a prize!
It's all happening over at
Where the challenge is...
We have some terrific sponsors for the prizes this challenge and they are

Here's the second one...
Clean and Simple Sketch 2

Kindness Matters

This is my rendition of the sketch and I've used a free images printout from Magic Moonlight Studio under the category of Butterflies and Birds.  I designed this by running the card through the BigShot with Fiskar's lined embossing plate.  Inked it up with TH Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and lightly spritzed with lavender scented water.  Once dry, I crosshatched Picket Fence Distress Paint randomly over the top.  Heated it up with the heat tool and then sanded down various sections.   I printed out two copies of the butterflies, one to lay flat and one to take flight atop the other.  After completing that, I clear embossed a butterfly from Stampin' Up's Kindness Matters stamp set and then stamped the sentiment over that with TH Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  The last touch was with assorted colors of Stickles on the butterflies and that's it!
I hope you've enjoyed the cards.  There are so many more wonderful creations at TOP TIP TUESDAY from the other DT's and if you find yourself inspired, I'd love to see what you do with the sketches.  You can either do one or the other or both!! It's totally up to you.

Thanks for stopping by and keeping up with my longwinded post!

Hugs and Happy Stamping...

So Stuck On You...

Welcome back to another open linky party at
Where our sponsor for this weeks challenge is
Who is offering our lucky winner the choice of 4 digis!

Let me now show you my
PICK OF THE WEEK!
This is from Linda at
This is just part one of two, you'll want to see what else is in this wonderful book.
Look at this adorable baby! There are so many more cute pictures like this...
Thank you Linda for the creative boost you gave me with this project.
Adorable, just ADORABLE!!!  :D)

I had the honor of using one of Meljen's images titled Honey Bears and thought this sentiment I designed on my PC worked great with it.
My camera is a bit finicky lately, so sorry it's blurry.  It's says, "I'm so stuck on you"...what with all the exchange of honey n' all. ;)

I'm off to do something domesticated about the house now, but thank you for coming by and I do hope you'll take  a stop by and say hi to the DT ladies and enter in your projects at

Take care,
Lisa xx

One Free Pass....

This little cutie is called "Over da wall puppy" from
Robyn's Fetish and just looking at him you can't help but think he's saying one of these things.
1.) Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy... would you just look at that garden!
2.)  Are those new leather shoes?
3.) Oh please, oh please....can I come inside now?
Valentine's Day is just around the corner and it's time for us to search out the perfect gift that says, "I love you."  Traditionally, there is an exchange of flowers, chocolates, jewelry, dinner out on the town, a movie date, etc....
But what does a lady get for her man that is really heartfelt, sincere, and useful!
I think I've discovered it...

 But first,
Welcome back to our 9th challenge at
where this 2 weeks challenge is....
CRITTERS!!!
With a very wonderful and generous sponsor
Offering the winner an amazing prize!
We would love to have you stop by and check out the super creative projects from the other DTs and submit your CRITTER entry as well!

So, I told you I thought I found the perfect gift that meets all the criteria for a Valentine gift and here it is...
Get out of Dog House Free Card!
Okay, okay... maybe not suitable for EVERY man, but you have to admit, it's kinda funny.
Nothing says I love you like, "Alright, but just tonight, you can come in the house."

That's it for me on this post, but thanks a bazillion for stopping in and saying hi!
I hope you are all doing super fantastic and the creative ideas are just overflowing.
Have a fantastic day.
High five's and hugs,
Lisa xx

Am I the Ball or the Chain? I forget...

I just had a complete blast admiring all the amazing and talented entries last week at Make It Monday and I'm so excited for yet another week of inspiration!
It appears that everyone has received something new to craft with and I could literally spend hours on everyone's blog learning new techniques, admiring layouts and styles or just drooling over an adorable image.  2012 is obviously going to be a most influential, educational and motivational year!
Take for example my
PICK OF THE WEEK!!!
Be it ever so grueling to just pick one....I present you,
Marie Gamber
at
The Joy of Cards

I chose this, not only for the gorgeous card she's created, but because of the amazing tutorial she has provided along with it that gives details to her coloring technique
AND
No, this isn't blood or a terrible accident caught on film,
it's the neatest tip on how to make your own homemade Flower Soft!
Thank you Marie for the intriguing, informational and inspirational entry this week!

So, whatcha' waiting for?
#71 Linky Party is now OPEN!!

And to join in the festivities, we have a brand new Sponsor!!!

Who is so very graciously offering the winner 7 single digis

This is right up my humor alley....
I've colored this lovely couple with Copics and cut them out using Spellbinder's hearts and then a coordinating heart for the sentiment which is also from Bugaboo.
Splashed a little color on some graph paper for visual dissection of the white and rubbed on a few "eternal" sayings found in my stash.  Printed out a cute and fitting ticket sentiment from Digi Stamp Boutique, a gift from our very own Make It Monday wonderful leader. Thank you Michelle
The ball and chain is not included in this image.  I drew this and added it on as a funny afterthought.

So hop on over to Make It Monday and give those hard working, talented ladies some love and share your creative endeavors with us!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog to see what I've created from my messy desk!
A HUGE welcome to the new followers...thank you ever so much!  Also for the daily dose of positive, humorous and encouraging comments that I'm blessed to receive from you!

Virtual High-Fives and Z-snaps,

Cuddly Couple
This image is Nelly Leo Love #4 from Stamp Fairy.
I've paper pieced their outfits, colored their skin and hair with copics and set them in front of the background image provided from Free Vintage Digi Stamps.
Added a few ribbons from stash, a chipboard skyline, a gem here and there and a ticket sentiment from my stash and that's it!

Hope that you are all doing well in this new year....

Flirting Since Circa 1930

Happy Valentine's Day, Dear!
Happy New Year Everyone!!
I'm sure you're all still getting rested up from the holiday festivities and looking forward to tackling those New Year Resolutions.
My personal resolution for this year is to repeat the resolution I made several years ago which is to not make another New Year's resolution.
I woefully ever see one through and feel it's just too much pressure on myself and probably not the best way to start the beginning of a year knowing that I'll inevitably fail.
I do however make New Year Speculations...
By definition, speculate means to meditate on a subject; reflect.
So, for 2012, I speculate that:
1) When I am in the garage retrieving a soda from the fridge and I glance across the room and see my treadmill.  I speculate that that is probably there for a reason.
2.)  When I am in a craft store or online, purchasing and hoarding inordinate amounts of copious, probably unnecessary supplies; quite like a squirrel does with nuts ...
I speculate that in some very vague and rationalized way, this is what the definition of "savings" means.  For I'll surely be saving them for a later date!

Either way, however you choose to bring in the new year,
I wish you the VERY BEST of 2012!!

To start the year off right, there's another exquisite Linky Party at
Our Wonderful NEW Sponsor for this challenge is
Graciously offering the winner
a $10 Gift Certificate to spend in the store!
Thank you SO much Annie!!

Now for my first 2012
PICK OF THE WEEK
Here is...

by Jennifer at Ferrellraph-x
Aren't these tea cups wonderful?  The DP she chose makes them look completely real.
Thank you so much for your inspiration!

 And here is my card...
I know Christmas just passed and it's still a month away before Valentine's Day, but I figured I needed to get a head start on flanking my husband with love and gratitude and so here's another card I've made to send to him; hopefully before he sees the receipt of my "savings plan" at Hobby Lobby!
(Insert smiles and batting eyelids...)
The cover images are from Free Vintage Digi Stamps and I just LOVE them!
I don't believe that Pamela intended to post these images with the intent that I am posting them; however, I'd like to "speculate" that once the shock wears off of seeing what I've done to them, she'll find the humor in it as well....
Isn't that right, Pamela?  Pamela????
Can somebody please check on Pamela!!

Side view of above picture shows a typewriter inside as well and that is from Stampin' Up! set called Established Elegance and I've also used the free Typewriter font from dafont for my sentiment.

Thank you SO much to everyone who visits this post and I truly do wish you the
VERY BEST in 2012!!

Huge Hugs n' Happy Stamping...
Lisa xx
