Age...It's Only a Number!

Hello to you!
It's a special day today over at Top Tip Tuesday and it's all about Numbers!

So what could be more fun than a sarcastic ol' biddy on top of  a birthday cake making wisecracks about your age? To ease the pain, there's also a removable base to the cake that contains 20 little reasons to celebrate!
Bugaboo, with the ever fabulous images, so kindly let me use Stella Birthday- 29 Again.  I'm afraid she might be a tad too old to be jumping out of cakes anymore, but she's perfect for a topper.
The beautiful white roses are also from another sponsor Shape EZ, called Tipped Scallop Flower.
The birthday cake itself is a Silhouette file and the since we share TIPS at Top Tip Tuesday, my tip for the day is how to make fun 3D icing. By mixing Snow-Tex with acrylic paint, I was able to make the blue icing seen here.

So stop on by and show us your Numbers and while you're there, you'll love seeing the creative endeavors of my teammates!
Speaking of numbers, time to go balance the ol' checkbook....ICK!

Thanks so much for your visit and happy crafting to you.

So YEAH that Top Tip Tuesday is hosting this round of a challenge with Lavishly Luscious Layers!  This card has my lucky number of 13 layers all set together to show off the ever fabulous looking JJ from Bugaboo Stamps. No Peeking!

That's right, you can't peek into this little gift bag as it's devised with a lid! Ha...no cheating, no peeking, and definitely no shaking!  And if anyone in my family ever tells you I've ever done such a thing with a particular gift, placed so tauntingly under the tree, which I thought was resealed to perfection, I'll completely deny it!
They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, so if that's the case, I'm booby trapping all my children's gifts. Bwahahahahaha...
This little bag was created for the always fun linky party at Make It Monday where our wonderful sponsor this week is Bugaboo!!  I had the pleasure of using Snowglobe Marshmallow Snowmen and added another from my collection as well, Marshmallow Snowman Snowball.
Here is the original bag from a birthday party.

Thank you to my BFF for showing me how to make these lids! I watched her make about 1000 of them on Skype the other day and couldn't resist making one myself.
Here's with a little tissue sticking out and I still can't reveal what's inside, because there's NO peeking. However, if my kids try, they'll find the mouse trap I've planted in the paper. I'm KIDDING!!! ;)
So please come on over and join in the fun at Make It Monday and see all the ultra groovy creations by my teammates. Oh and we've also announced the winner of Visions of Sugarplums special MIM prize.
Hugs n' Happy Happy Stamping...

Now for the best part, my....
The design, stitching, musical background, poinsettia focal point and glorious greenery give the most wonderful vintage appeal. A beautiful card Shelly and thank you for sharing this with us at Make It Monday.

Happy Thanksgiving Sweetie Pie...

Well, the results are in here in the US and the country has spoken and we can all rest peacefully knowing that we won't have ANY more badgering phone calls or political commercials to endure for 2 more years! WOO HOO!!  This in itself makes me very thankful and inspired me to make another Thanksgiving card.
Welcome back to another linky party at Make It Monday with the ever popular sponsor Bugaboo who has created this cute little Bobblehead Thanksgiving Scarecrow
Does this pie look scrumptious or what?  I can't take credit for this design, but when I saw it here on Brigit's blog, I knew it would be a perfect backdrop for this Thanksgiving image.  The crust edge was made by using the wing from SU's Bird Builder Punch.
As always the DT are on their game and have created more wonderful inspiration you won't want to miss.  Speaking of not wanting to miss, here is my....
#153 Pia
Love this decorated Christmas bag!  The colors are beautiful with the textured trees and reindeer AND she's even decorated the back of this, but it's totally different. Take a peek here to see the entire project on Pia's blog!!

So glad you stopped by and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Make, Bake and Take...

Recycling is so much fun! Not only are you helping mother earth, but you sure can create some very unique and personalized gifts with them.  This is a picture heavy post, so I'll just explain that the challenge happening over at Top Tip Tuesday is to recycle with something you might otherwise throw away or contribute to the recycling center.
 Here is my DT project

I thought it would be fun to make a table setting specific to the image that I was so graciously allowed to use from Bugaboo titled JJ Baking.  I've designed here a table runner, placemat, decorated jar to use for centerpiece or whatever, name placard for sitting arrangement and a napkin holder.
Recycled items I've used are Alfredo jar, 2011 calendar, cereal box, freezer paper, soda can and mesh bag for oranges.

Recycled Alfredo Sauce Jar

Recycled Cereal Box

So STOP! Don't throw that away and make something REALLY cool and useful with it.

Challenge Theme:  RECYCLE IT!

Thank you also to our extremely generous sponsors:  Bugaboo Stamps (7 digis of your choice) and Ooh La La Creations (1 of their CDs)

Zero to 60 in....

I lassoed, hog-tied and duct tapped it, but somehow the weekend eluded me and here we are again at Monday!  If not for two things, I'd still be drooling on my pillow.  The smell of coffee and the anticipation of kicking off another linky party at Make It Monday, bolted me right out of bed!
Thanks so much for the amazing support of everyone who participated in last weeks party, I had the best time seeing all of your entries.

So, what goes 0 to 60 in stupid-seconds?  Hummingbirds! What used to be a peaceful setting for watching nature in our backyard has turned into a full scale gang land war.  I'd seen a few hummingbirds flying by on a regular basis and thought, "Hey, let's hang a feeder right here next to the patio table, it'll be great!" WRONG!!  I swear it's like survival of the fittest out there.  I'm thinking of having a body suit of kevlar made so I can sit and drink a cup of coffee. NOT in a red cup either, another stupid move.  I don't know how you all who have more than one feeder do it!  Then again you probably don't hang them right in front of your faces either! LOL...ah well....

What else goes 0 to 60 in stupid-seconds?   Pretty much anything a man can get ahold of...
Here is my step card using the images Stella's Tire/Testicles and Guy Car.
Complete with a wood shingled man cave garage and assorted banter on signs.

Here is my...
PICK OF THE WEEK!
Dr. Sonia with her Altered Clock

First off, she refers to herself as a "novice" in quilling, but would you look at this! I love that she re-purposed a clock and made such a beautiful scenery! All the little leaves on that tree, she hand embossed the veins as well.  Incredible attention to detail and what amazing talent. She has more detailed pictures on her blog here if you'd like to check it out closer up!

Thank you so much for every single awesome comment that was left for me. I had the best laughs and smiles.
Hugs to you all and happy stamping...

But don't stop here, there's tons more inspiration from my teamies over at
and our gracious sponsor who is offering the prize of 7 single digis...WOW!

Santa Chillaxing...

Ohhh, blistering heights...it's so hot outside! How hot is it you ask?
It's so hot...Today I saw two trees fighting over a dog!
It's so hot...you could fry an egg on a ice cube!
It's so hot...I saw Optimus Prime transform into an air conditioner!
It's so hot...people are baking cookies on their dashboards!
It's so hot...birds are using potholders to pull worms out of the ground!
But never fear, I've peeked into the forecast and it's supposed to be in the chilly 80's next week!!!
Until then, I just have to live vicariously through cool thoughts and that very thing helped me create this card for our current linky party at
Santa Baby Chillaxing
This handsome bathing suit Santa is from our sponsor
Bugaboo called, Tropical Santa (the antlers are another stamp I've added just for fun)
The background sky and water have been painted with acrylics and highlighted with Derwent watercolor pencils and gesso touched for white caps on the waves.
The beach ball and jet ski are stamps from ArtStamp Heaven.com
A little close-up of the jolly fellow himself who is laying on the sandpaper sand.

Hope you've enjoyed the card and we would love for you to submit your talent and creativity with us for another wonderful week of sharing at
Before you go, I'll leave you with the my
PICK OF THE WEEK!
(I swear I'm going to have a nervous breakdown one of these days just trying to pick ONE!)
But here it is...

At this point, my brain has pretty much turned to mush from the overload of gorgeousness.  I'm not sure any words I have would be fitting enough to describe how pretty I think this is!
These are only a few of the display pictures. To see more, click here.

Well that about wraps it up for me.
I hope you all have a great week coming up and can spare some time to link up with us at

Before you leave, please notice the donation jar...all cool weather deposits are welcome!!!

Cupcake Celebration

Hello!
Here's another card for the ever fabulous Linky Party happening over at
Make It Monday.
Using a combination of images from Bugaboo called Girl Cupcakes and Theodore - Birthday Sign as well as a free sentiment from Ginger's House.
With a little fussy cut image, lots of stickles, a slather of copics and some paper balloons and pretty ribbons, scalloped cut edge and you have yourself a birthday celebration card.

Before I go, I'd like to show you my...
PICK OF THE WEEK!
I really love the CAS style here. It's great that she used the DP as part of her focal point and accented the kites with gloss but the addition of the Happy Day die cut really makes the card pop.  Love the large scalloped base that accentuates the clouds in the paper...very pretty card!
Thank you so much for stopping in!

Silhouette Butterflies....

Well, hello there again and welcome back!
You ever seen that movie, Cool Hand Luke?  There's a famous line in it that goes, "What we have here is...failure...to...communicate."  Seems my brain recited this several times through the process of creating this card.  It's absolutely NOTHING like I visualized; however, mission accomplished anyway.  I found it quite difficult to make this gorgeous image 'dainty.'   Don't get me wrong, I love the image, but I saw it going more in a monochromatic path, so this jobby is completely off the mark from what I intended.  I'm actually pretty pleased that communication within my own head was garbled, it's different and I like it. :)
The designer paper is a free digital download from Far Far Hill.  Accompanied with a bit of stitching, three layers of the silhouette image Butterfly Flowers from our sponsor Bugaboo.  A few UTEE covered flourishes and leaves from the TH die Festive Greenery.  Die cut leaves from Stampin' Up as well as the brown punched flowers with Baby Blue Stickles and pearl centers.

We'd sure love to see what you've been up to creatively and there's always room to share it in our linky parties.  Speaking of which, here is my POTW from last week's #92 Linky Party.
PICK OF THE WEEK!
This is #163 from Grace at Th-Ink-ing Of You and it's just gorgeous.
I love the fabulous soft colors, the intricate framing and flourishes with the gorgeous flower arrangement and delicate music paper in the background.  What a beautiful way to showcase this sentiment. :)

Thank you so much for stopping in and visiting. I can never thank you enough for all the smiles you give me daily!

Raising Teenagers...

I have two of them and I must admit, I'm blessed.  They are fantastic young people and despite the not being able to get up when the alarm goes off (a ridiculous amount of times) or leaving a trail through the house of all of their crap; they make me laugh. They still hug me in public, they still say 'I love you' and they both make me so proud.

As you may know already by visiting my blog, I almost think I am related to Stella. She can be such a...well, you know, and a time or two, I've forgotten to turn on the brain before the mouth opened and spatted a few choice quotes myself.  For example, what stupid and yet ironically poignant thing did I say this past weekend?  Gosh, it would have to of been while at the never ending bake sale/fundraiser for my son's Critical Thinking Team, who are now going to Tennessee to compete at the Global level (YEAH!).  Those poor kids are working their butts off earning all the money for a six day trip. Not to mention us parents cooking ours off as well in the kitchen for items to sell.  Anyway, it was hot and miserable outside and the kids are in great spirits and asking if anyone would like to support their local high school by donating (any amount, could be a quarter) and receive a lovely baked item.  This young couple was so rude and snubbed the poor kid.  He looked up at me and said, "Well, I tried." I looked back and said, "You did awesome! Don't feel bad.  I'm not going to tell her now that she's still wearing the price tag on the back of her dress!"  He turned around and got the biggest smile on his face and the rest of the day was a huge success!  I personally think I would have made Stella proud. (I'm so rotten sometimes.)  ;)

However, I'm a wee bit addicted to Stella and her total disregard for proper public relations and steep on the side of sarcasm, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this image from Bugaboo.
If it looks rather naked for my style, it is.  The card is based off of the sketch tutorial at Top Tip Tuesday from one of our wonderful DT leaders, Samantha, who has shown how she designed her clean and simple sketch.  The flower pot is hand drawn, colored with copics and glazed with UTEE.  Attached to the pot are wires that hold the copic colored Stella as well as worded leaves that offer reminders of what is needed to raise teenagers.
The leaves are a bit 'ehh' but overall I've kept with the Clean And Simple Challenge and that alone IS a challenge for me.

Would love if you stopped over and checked out the other DT cards and entered your take on our challenge. The winners of this challenge will be provided prizes from our sponsors, Simon Says Stamp, Bugaboo, and Ooh La La Creations.

Thanks for stopping by,
Big hugs n' Happy Stamping...
