Sunshine Fairies & Scrabble Bingo

What happens when you get all your new crafty stuff out and put it right in front of you to make a card? You about lose your mind, that's what. Too too much cool stuff and not that having stuff is a problem, it's just resisting the urge to throw it ALL on the card together. After pacing and picking, eliminating and scratching head, I decided to use these groovy pom poms that Mom gave me for Christmas.  A "fairly" CAS card using the beautiful image from Nicecrane Designs titled Funny Fairies.
This is another set of fairies from Nicecrane Designs as well and I've combined them with a quirky game of Scrabble Bingo. Thank you Mitra for the coolest jar of buttons and Scrabble pieces ever!  This combo might make a cute Valentine card or a new baby card.
Have a wonderful day!

Smooches....

Do you love sketches? Do they just make your life a little easier? Well if you answered yes to both of those, then we have the perfect challenge for you over at Dutch Dare!  This week we'd love to see whatever you'd like to create using the following Sketch Challenge.

Here's a little sneak peek inside of the card I've made.  I'm having the best time with my new Cameo, when I'm not banging my head on how to manipulate it, and I've resolved to decorate the insides of my cards too. So far so good!
In the words of Bob Barker, "Come On Down" to Dutch Dare and have some fun with our
Sketch Challenge.
BONUS NEWS
The prize this week is from our very own fabulous leader, Kelly, who is an Independent Close To My Heart Consultant and she is offering a prize package of OVER $40. If we have more than 25 entries, she will add an additional $10 to the prize.  That's right, YOU could win a prize total over $50!!
ALSO....
We've had a few lovely ladies step down from Dutch Dare, so we are also hosting a
DT CALL!!!
Thanks so much for popping in...

Love Potion #9

After years of suggesting that they needed to spice up their love life, Nina finally gives in.  She tells her man to go wait in the bedroom and play the role of the poor sick patient and the nurse will be right in to make it all better.  Judging by the look on her face and the size of that needle, Mr. Man Flu is probably wishing he'd just kept his mouth shut.
Turn and cough sweetie and when you're done, this will only hurt A LOT!
I know, I know, it's not the "traditional" Valentine's Day card, BUT, when you combine the amazing digital stamp Man Flu with Night Nurse Nina, it just makes sense that it should be a silly celebration of love.
Thank you goes out to Dr. Digi's House of Stamps for creating the most wonderful interactive images that allow for tons of fun and a little quirkiness.
Stop on by his store and see for yourself!

You're A Ball To Be Around...

I'm about to lose my mind with my camera, so apologies on the gunky picture.  But, take my word, these images from Zlatoena's are so stinkin' cute.  Here is my DT card for the latest Top Tip Tuesday challenge which is hosting the theme of...FUR or FEATHERS so join in the fun and bring along you fuzzy or flighty creations and you'll be in the running for two digital images from Zlatoena's!
I couldn't take making another Christmas card so I thought a fun wintery friendship card would be fitting for this little buddy, Bunny in a snowball fight.

Thank you so much for hopping in today and I'll leave you with a special poem.

Snowball
by Shel Silverstein
I made myself a snow ball as perfect as could be.
I thought I'd keep it as a pet and let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas and a pillow for it's head.
Then, last night it ran away.
But first -- it wet the bed.

Vroom, Vroom Valentine...

Soooo....the other night in the living room, the family is sitting around the fireplace just chilling together and yet another odd conversation began, this time about cheesy pick up lines.  By the end of night and after literally hearing hundreds of them, I was torn between hysterical laughter and feeling nauseated.  I think my favorite was,
"I'm glad I have my library card because I'm checking you out."
I think we can all agree that 99% of them cause us to throw up a little...
I seriously feel for the poor young lady who gets approached with this one,
"Those must be space pants you're wearing because they make your butt look out of this world!"
I think it would be a riot to make Valentine cards with the most outrageous pick up phrases, BUT...save back a few of the more classic reserved kind like my card here for The Cutting Cafe.
I've used Regina's awesome set Feb 14 with loads and loads of digital stamps, sentiments, and just plain cute stuff!
They all come in black and white and color. All in all the set includes 82 elements to choose from.
Here's a sneak peek...

Thank you SO much for your visit and before you go, I'll depart with one last one...
"Your Daddy must own Campbell's Soup because you're lookin' mmmm mmmm good!" LOL!

You're Fascinating....

One of my favorite things I used to tell my kids when they were little and I was cooking, talking on the phone, making an errand list in my head, checking homework, preparing a bottle and doing laundry all at the same time while they were calling out my name was, "Mommy can do 500 things at one time, but I can't do 501!"  I absolutely love this image from Krista at Saturated Canary and I was so happy to see that she was sponsoring us this week at Make It Monday!  Krista completely nailed the domestic goddess look here.    Besides, it's true, all us Mommies get through it and sit back and wonder how in the world we did it all...well, it's because you're just fascinating amazing people!
I've made this card for a young friend of mine who is just now venturing into the "Cling-on" phase of parenting.  One clinging on the leg and one clinging on the hip.
So please come on over and share your makes with us and enjoy the ever delightful creativity of my teammates.
Now for the best part, my...
Okay, here's what I love about this card. See the very simple design here? It looks like your standard CAS card, but WAIT...there's MORE!  You'll have to click here to see the explosion of activity that happens when you open it! I can't even give you a hint, I'd hate to ruin the fun. :)
Thank you so much Asha for sharing this with us at Make It Monday!

As always, thanks isn't nearly enough for all your kind and funny words you leave, but thank you anyway! :)

Enjoy Your Day (For a Female)

Ohhh she's living the life!
Meet the lovely Deirdery on her day off....and boy is she living it up.
Tall glass of Long Island Iced Tea and her ittsy bitsy polka dot not a bikini, beside the lovely umbrella that's keeping the sun from frizzing her newly done hairdo.   Pedro, the handsome young pool boy has just stepped away to make her some lunch.
I designed this card to be fitting for so many different occasions like, birthday, retirement, yeah-you won the lottery, etc.  Thank you to Dr. Digi's House of Stamps for producing this gorgeous pool side diva!
So happy you popped in!
Deirdery nodded off for a little nap while she waits for her luxurious lunch, but I'll be sure to tell her you stopped in. :)

I "El-Oh-Vee-Ee" You...

Firstly, "Happy New Year!!!"
Secondly, welcome back to my very first DT post for The Cutting Cafe.  I'm tickled pink, just like little Cupie here, to have been selected to work with Regina and her fabulous team!
This card debuts the It's All About Love printable stamp set.
This background printable worked perfectly for the backdrop of the card.
The sentiment phrase is highlighted next to the soft felt heart.

LOVE was designed on my PC using the free dafont.com website where I downloaded Drifttype and merged it digitally with free papers from Free Vintage Digital Stamps.
The Cupie doll is colored in copics and is from a set I've had for ages.

Hope you enjoyed the card and I wish you all the very best of 2013!!
Hugs n' Happy Stamping,
Lisa xx

Thank You For Each Day...

 Welcome back!
It's 2013 and WOW, what a year it's been... ;)
So far I woke up and had coffee...pretty great so far!
Today I have a little refurbished picture frame to share with you for our month long challenge over at
Heck Of a Challenge where the theme is
Thank You!

Without saying too many words, the end of 2012 left us with such immense sadness.  For me it was the reminder that time is never guaranteed. Time to grow old, time to watch those we love grow-up, time to finish that one thing I could do tomorrow, time to call that friend, time to give an extra hug or say ' I love you'
Each hour, each second, is a gift to cherish...
and to say thank you for.

Here is the $1 wooden picture frame I picked up at a Thrift Store
Painting layers in this order,
Gesso, Plaid Acrylic Paint, Black Licorice Acrylic Paint on the edges, White Acrylic Paint over entire surface while black was still damp, final step of clear Crackle.
I found this sentiment on someones blog and now I cannot remember where. I'll research more to see if I can find her, but she had this offered up on her blog for free to use.

Close-up of the picture frame.
The sentiment I turned black and white and then printed out on Kraft paper.

Hope you've enjoyed your visit and we would LOVE for you to join us over at Heck Of a Challenge for our theme of Thank You.

I do thank you all for your valuable time you choose to spend with me. You are all very appreciated.
Hugs and Happiness in 2013,
Lisa xx
