Santa Chillaxing...

Ohhh, blistering heights...it's so hot outside! How hot is it you ask?
It's so hot...Today I saw two trees fighting over a dog!
It's so hot...you could fry an egg on a ice cube!
It's so hot...I saw Optimus Prime transform into an air conditioner!
It's so hot...people are baking cookies on their dashboards!
It's so hot...birds are using potholders to pull worms out of the ground!
But never fear, I've peeked into the forecast and it's supposed to be in the chilly 80's next week!!!
Until then, I just have to live vicariously through cool thoughts and that very thing helped me create this card for our current linky party at
Santa Baby Chillaxing
This handsome bathing suit Santa is from our sponsor
Bugaboo called, Tropical Santa (the antlers are another stamp I've added just for fun)
The background sky and water have been painted with acrylics and highlighted with Derwent watercolor pencils and gesso touched for white caps on the waves.
The beach ball and jet ski are stamps from ArtStamp Heaven.com
A little close-up of the jolly fellow himself who is laying on the sandpaper sand.

Hope you've enjoyed the card and we would love for you to submit your talent and creativity with us for another wonderful week of sharing at
Before you go, I'll leave you with the my
PICK OF THE WEEK!
(I swear I'm going to have a nervous breakdown one of these days just trying to pick ONE!)
But here it is...

At this point, my brain has pretty much turned to mush from the overload of gorgeousness.  I'm not sure any words I have would be fitting enough to describe how pretty I think this is!
These are only a few of the display pictures. To see more, click here.

Well that about wraps it up for me.
I hope you all have a great week coming up and can spare some time to link up with us at
Hugs n' Happy Stamping...
Before you leave, please notice the donation jar...all cool weather deposits are welcome!!!

Oh my, he does look cool but, I'm sorry, you lost me when you mentioned people are making cookies on their dashboards? Are they leaving their cars unlocked??? ;D

Ok, it's been 10 minutes now and the uncontrollable laughter has subsided and the side splitting pain in my ribs in down to a dull ache now so I think I can comment on your card!!

(have you considered stand up comedy? Just asking......)

Love your card, you always go the extra mile with the fab little details and that is what gives your cards the WOW factor.

Santa looks like he is just chillin here in Far North Queensland during our winter before the madness of Christmas begins (which can I just say is only 140 days, 16 hours and 20 minutes away as I type this.....just so you know, lol).

You have picked a stunner of a project this week as your POTW. Wow, crazy awesome creation, I'm just in awe of this lovely lady's talent.

Michelle :o)

This is such a fun and fabulous card! Love the cute Santa, layered beach and dimensional tree. Plus and sentiment is just so funny. My daughter told me if she gave someone this card, the person probably would think she doesn't like her.... LOL...

Hello Q
What a fabulous Santa, very cute and funny, but I am also very very impressed with the watercolour background, you have made a card into a story, and using the torn layers for the sand adds wonderful dimension, the stand-up surf boards are a colourful touch, it is wonderfully unique as usual..... I have not started my Christmas cards yet!

I don't know how many people get to you before I do - but you know what they say about us Southerners. "we be slow!" Now am I seeing things or is this Santa's face on the green side? I love your painted back ground - very nice young lady!!!!

Sandy!!! Santa is wearing shades so he doesn't get his eye balls burnt!!!

OH how funny. Love him. Looks like he spends a wee bit of time on the beach because he is not as pale as I thought he might be....must be Mrs. Claus isn't after him with the spf...

L2,
See what I mean? Told ya! hehehe Well my jaw is getting better every day but now I'm gonna have to go to the eye doctor. The strain on my eyes from peering into the ocean has given me the worst headache and I think I need glasses. LOL All jokes aside your creative muse is on a roll. Or is she like Stella and just found her groove. Either way, I always find the artistic expression here refreshing and the humor hysterical. Now about stand up comedy...
I saw your POTW at TTT and this gal blew me away. What an awesome project and great call by you. :)
As Ahhhnold would say COOL OFF and I hope you do. ;)
Big Hugs,
L1

LMBO I am going to have to jot those down for future reference. Thanks for the huge chuckle this morning Lisa. Great way to start a busy day.
Your ray catchin' Santa is awesome. Each and every element you've combined to make his scene is so fun and creative. I think they need to set up a tour of your brain at the next CHA. :-) Have a great one Twang!

Hi Sweetheart! You're the best! I get your blog sent to my email inbox each time you post, so I don't come here to comment anywhere near as often as I should. I'm sorry. Truly I am! I love all of your creations, always, despite my rude silence. Thanks for commenting on my cards over at STV. You're too kind. I value your feedback more than anyone elses. I know I'll never even approach making cards as beautifully as you do, but I keep reaching for that goal. Huge hugs!

Beaches!! hehehe! Who knew Santa was a surfer?! Makes sense that he'd be a nature thrill seeker with the whole zooming around the world in a sled pulled by reindeer! But seriously, this is one fantastic card! The sky is gorgeous and I love the sandy beach! Still LOL at the sentiment!!
Fantastic PotW too! Gorgeous!!
Baking cookies on dashboards... hmmm... wonder if that would work... Would make for a great after school snack!
