Tree Topper Trick or Treater???....

Hello, hello, hello...
Just a little post to show today because so I'm excited that House-Mouse & Friends is hosting a DT call and I (for sentimental reasons) thought I needed to give it a try.
Every Christmas for the past, I can't even remember now, my Mom has purchased a House-Mouse stamp and put it in my stocking for Christmas morning.  I remember when I was little and couldn't wait to find the toy or candy, but now I get all giddy waiting to see what that year's stamp will be!!
So, when I went to grab a stamp and make a card, it being the beginning of Fall here, I thought I'd do a Halloween card, BUT....since I always got Christmas stamps, I was stumped.  Never fear, little Muzzy the Mice Star (tree topper) doubled as a trick or treater in his yellow star costume. I then added a little pumpkin basket for him to carry.
Since the stamp was originally a Christmas stamp, I decided that the card should be a snow globe shaker card with a Halloween scenery.  I've used the wonderful Christmas Shape Shaker Cards located at The Cutting Cafe shop.
And here it is all finished up!
My grandma is here visiting us and as soon as I finished making this she grabbed it and put it in her suitcase. I'm gonna take that to mean that this card no longer resides here...  ;)
The theme for this current challenge, HMFMC203, is either 'Anything Goes' or "BINGO'.
I opted to do across with Ribbon, Yellow, Flowers/Leaves.
This challenge still has 2 days to enter so you should REALLY, REALLY, REALLY try out too!!
I'd also like to enter in the following challenge:
Gruffies & Guests- Challenge 21; Make it Fruity or Anything Goes

Thank you so very much for your visit.
Biggest of hugs and Happy Crafting to you.

I'll be back on the 27th to announce the winner of my surprise prize for the
Chouxchoux Paper Art Halloween Party, so stay tuned!

Pumpkin Fun @ The Cutting Cafe

Howdy, howdy, howdy!
Heaven help me and pinch my cheeks...I'm as happy as a bug in a rug!
I absolutely abhor hot weather.   Nothing like spending time doing your hair and makeup only to have it frizz out and the makeup slide off and gather in a pool between your boobs.
 Did I mention H.A.T.E it?
Today's temperature is going to be high 60's to low 70's and tomorrow.... hold me back... 50's!!!
Mums, Red Maple leaves, scarecrows and pumpkins are popping out all over the neighborhood; which is why I was so happy to make this project for The Cutting Cafe.

For this edition, the exquisite DT and our fearless leader Regina are going to be showcasing
PUMPKIN FUN!
Today I am featuring the following sets:

Would you like to win 3 free sets of your choice?

Hello Friend...

Hello!
I can't quite put my finger on it, but this little tree house reminds me of a home in the Hundred Acre Wood, or a cozy nook for a Beatrix Potter's character, doesn't it? This little image is called Tree House from Ladies That Craft.  I absolutely LOVE these images and there's more too, so check out what incredible projects the Make It Monday ladies have done!
Another Make It Monday linky party is open and this is my contribution for this week. Decided a burlap scallop frame would fit nicely with the barky texture and a few rolled flowers and hello banner to decorate.  If you have something you'd like to share with us, feel free to enter in and you'll be eligible for the prize.
It's time now to show you my....

I am so excited about this tag!!
I love the twist on this Halloween cutie. She's titled this Halloween for Softies.
Wonderful reflection stamping and seeing the witches clothing hanging from the line is such a hoot!   For more information please check out Avril's blog post here.
Thanks for stopping in!

Jeepers Creepers...

Here she sits upon her throne,
broom in hand
and all alone.
The clock chimes twelve
by light of moon
into the witching hour she will delve.
Tricks and treats
she must complete
gathering items for recipes.
Sweet and precious with baby cheeks
but danger lurks
don't be deceived!
With child like giggle,
she comes as a friend.
victim you'll be, eyeless you'll scream.
Plopped in a jar, she watches them jiggle.
Heed this warning, one and all...
On all Hallows Eve
lock your doors, seal your windows,
because this little girl
becomes a witch in the end!
             ~Lisa~

GAK! If that's not the most disturbing poem I've ever written, I'm not sure what is...BUT, it's all in the fun spirit of Halloween for the current challenge happening over at Our Creative Corner.  Our most magnificent Marcy is hosting this week and she wants us all to get decked out in costumes and masks! Well, no, you don't actually have to wear a mask, but you DO have to use the
 Masking Technique.
She'd also like it to incorporate your scariest Halloween creation!

Here is the inside of my card where I've masked the rocks, trees, leaves and moon and little witch.  The card itself isn't spooky, but figured writing a poem that utilizes elements I've stamped might amp up the creepy factor.

Please join us at Our Creative Corner with your masks and Masking Technique for another hauntingly good challenge.  While you're there, beware and use caution as you venture through the dark and eerie halls, for my teammates have surprises lurking around every corner!
Mwahahahahaaha.....

Poor Mr. Bone Jangles...

The Mistress Bat and little witches have gathered together to pay their respects to poor Mr. Bone Jangles. Was he a friend or a victim? We shall never know, but may he rest in peace in this swanky little coffin.
Our challenge this time around at Top Tip Tuesday is hosted by none other than the completely talented and creative Bettina who has chosen the theme of Halloween!  No properly decorated yard would be complete without a makeshift coffin  prop and neither would a card, so guess what? Bettina is even showcasing a tutorial on how to make this eerily awesome coffin!
I loved her tutorial so much that I decided to make one as well and placed it on a card front with some "guests" courtesy of The Graphics Fairy.  A few bits n' bobs here and there and matching flowers in all of their hands.

So run, walk, or fly on over and share your ghoulishly creepy, cute, cuddly or scary Halloween projects with us.  You won't want to miss out on the prizes from our wonderful sponsors Stamp and Create and Sew Sweet!

Halloween!

In The Spirit of Halloween...

More than anything, I love seeing little kids all dressed up for trick or treating.  The most precious of them are when the whole family dresses up together.  I tend to be a softy when I see a little toddler waddling up to the porch, dragging a treat basket that's nearly twice their size, and in that little voice say, "Twick o tweet pweeze." Without a doubt, if they passed the cemetery of decaying bones and howling music, banging on the walls and psychotic music coming through the fog to reach my porch, they absolutely deserve a bag or two of candy!
So, in the continued spirit of Halloween,, I've made this card with the wonderful pumpkin graphic from Nicecrane Designs and added a toddler from Graphics Fairy to symbolize what I love seeing about the holiday.  What a cool idea to hang your lit pumpkins from the tree...I think I might do that this year!
I hope this and my teammates at Make It Monday have inspired you to join us in another fun filled linky party...and just like Halloween, we have treats!!  Our sponsor this week is Cupcake Cards and Crafts.
Here's another crafter who shared their creativity last week and is my...
I just love all the animation happening here on this card! The adorable pumpkins, the mix of autumn flowers. The precious witch on her ride and what especially caught my eye was the lock on the front door of the silhouette house! What a cool idea!
Thank you so much Lucy for sharing your talent at Make It Monday. You've certainly inspired me. :)

Thanks so much for stopping in today and a HUGE warm welcome to my newest followers. I hope you find some inspiration here and a smile.
OH, and because it's also in the spirit of Halloween to scare...here's a little video. LOL!
(Don't worry, nothing pops out at you!..I hate those kind of videos) ;)

"Psst...your zipper's open!"

Give me a psychology book and tell me to read 5 chapters and I'll instantly lapse into a comatose nap, but tell me to hit the streets with a hands on interactive study and I'm gung-ho!  1989, sophomore year in college, coolest professor ever, sent his class out into the world to document human interaction.  Here's the catch, in his Kansas vernacular, "Ya ain't gonna look right!"  No truer words were ever spoken...well, sort of spoken?!  Fast forward to "Operation Nincompoop" day.

It's stupid o' clock in the morning as the class meets up at the local Donut Shop.  Professor is there waiting with a bear claw in one hand, coffee in the other and what should have been a red flag, grin on his face.  He proceeds to pass around a hat, each student taking out a little folded piece of paper.  As he walks in front of me, I reach out to grab in the hat, he pulls the hat away from me and the grin becomes even more menacing.  Guy standing right next to me grabs his assignment.  End of the line arrives, papers are all gone, students are studying their tasks, laughter and groans are starting to fill the air, and I ain't got crap!  As I stand there puzzled, watching as girls grab from the supplies on the table, bits of spinach, and awkwardly stick it on their teeth, guys unzipping their pants, girls unzipping their pants, several people swapping one shoe with each other, buttons being undone and then re- buttoned improperly, drops of water being poured down legs, and still...nothing. I think at this point I had the full on Valley Girl stance, arms crossed, leg out to the side, tapping foot with frustration when the professor walks over to me with a store bought foil pie plate and says, "Here's your prop." I immediately said, "Are you serious? You want me to wear a foil hat?  This is stupid. People DO get food stuck in their teeth, they DO forget to zip their pants, they CAN grab the wrong shoes, but people don't normally grab Reynold's Wrap and whip up a little beanie on their way out the door!"  That's when the professor very quietly, grabbed the pie pan from my hands, gently lifted the paper insert of the pan and then made direct eye contact as he began prying that sticky bit of goopy gunk used to stick the paper to the pan. THAT'S RIGHT...you got it...I got booger detail!

So what does this have to do with the challenge over at Dutch Dare?  Absolutely nothing!! HOWEVER, I've designed this card with someone special in mind, using the theme happening this week of Buttons and Bows with the precious image Kai from our sponsor Crafty Sentiments

To make a long story longer, it's amazing the distance people will go to avoid you when you've got an obstruction dangling out your nostril!!  All except one special lady.  After hours of receiving occasional body language from strangers as they briefly looked at me, wiping their noses to indicate I might want to do the same, finally, one brave soul had the gumption to walk right up to me and say, "Honey, you got yourself a doozie of a snot rocket that appears to be held up on the launch pad!"

Needless to say, we've been thicker than thieves for over 20 years now and still going strong. Thanks to my crazy psychology professor, science inventing goopy gunk and the beautiful heart of a compassionate citizen, I've found a life long friend.  This card is for her and I figured the zipper would suffice and much prettier than snot rockets.  I've included a ginormous heart, just like hers, that I'm so privileged to know.

So please join us at Dutch Dare and make a card with buttons and bows for someone special in your life!!
Thanks so much for your visit. I hope you found some inspiration here or at least a good laugh at me.
Hugs n' Happy Stamping,
Lisa xx

From Our Home To Yours...

Need some comical relief? How about a walk on the far side? If you'd like to journey into a world of amazingly odd and off the wall awesome then I have just the place for you!  Welcome to the brilliantly bizarre brain of Dr. Digi's House of Stamps.  Here you will find monsters, aliens, odd balls and Dundertons and many many more wonderful digital stamps.
I recently received an email inviting me to join this very new and incredible stamping blog. Of course, after seeing the endless possibilities of weird and wonderful quirkiness, how could I possibly refuse? I couldn't, not at all!!
So here is my first DT card to present to you, featuring the ever frightful and painstakingly striking Mr. and Mrs. Frankenstein called Made For Each Other
Colored up in copics and set in the comforts of their front yard, which include Styrofoam tombstones, silhouette background, full moon, flying bats and a wonderful little Halloween tag from Nicecrane Designs...is a Halloween greeting card from our home to yours!
Little peek-a-boo of card design that allows the house and tree to stick out from the moon and the card not to fall over (people prefer cards that way apparently?!?)

Stay tuned for up and coming events at Dr. Digi's Blog and until then, the team and myself will be showcasing the latest and greatest images as they roll off the press.  In the meantime, you can find this and other images at Dr. Digi's House of Stamps Store.  Also, if you love the wonderful tag from Nicecrane Desgins, you can find it here as well.

Dr. Digi is on Facebook
There's also a new Blog (cool stuff coming SOON)

Tribute to Black and White Cinema

I love the older black and white scary movies so I thought a card depicting some of the greats like Nosferatu (1922), The Old Dark House (1932), Psycho (1960), would be a fun change of pace.  Using the amazing image from Nicecrane Designs, I've incorporated this Halloween Greeting from the digital images of Vintage Halloween. Black and white colors for the majority and speck of gold to highlight. Needing a little sumpin' sumpin' in the bottom right corner, I've cropped the bat from the original image and placed it under a clear dot and mounted to a small rosette. I think it's turned out kinda classy and eerie all at the same time.

Stop on by Nicecrane Designs and say hello to Ignacio!
You honestly won't believe the amazing selection of incredible digital stamps in his store.

Thank you for your visits. They always give me warm fuzzies! :)
Hugs n' Happy Stamping,

Buga-"Boo" Halloween

There's weirdness in the air lately. Can't complain, it's not melting degrees outside, but I can see by the trees that the glorious fall weather is getting ready to stay. A few spikes of warmer weather and then BAM, 50 degrees and holding...I am SO excited. Just got done having a massive bake sale over the weekend, my task was pies. You don't even want to see pictures of my kitchen, but a good time was had. All bundled up in the cool weather and selling for a great cause, even had a little "spiced" cider to keep the nip away.  I did not however have "spiced" cider while making this card, even though it may look like I did..Ha! I love the little image from Bugaboo called Scene It-Halloween Witch, all colored up in copics with a black silhouette cat added on a foam dot. Funky little bow and googly eyed BOO sign. The background is a frame die structured as a stand so little witch here wouldn't roll away.  It's fun, it's quirky and it has my favorite colors.
Have something fun and quirky you'd like to share with us at Make It Monday this week? I certainly hope so because a new linky party is now open and my terrific teammates have been busy creating some amazing cards and projects.  I cannot say however, if they've crafted under the influence of "spiced" cider. You'll just have to visit their blogs and see for yourselves. (wink!)
The wonderful prize this week from Bugaboo is a choice of 7 single digis. Sweeet!

Thank you so much for your visit, it's always MORE than appreciated.

Here is what I can't wait to show you...my,
It's a beautiful soft pallet of colors and I couldn't get over all the amazing little flowers!

Country Bumpkin' Pumpkin...

Has anyone else noticed an influx of spiders lately? That's usually a good indication that Halloween is just around the corner. I love the nature made decorations; especially the strategically placed cobweb spanning the entire area of my front door entry. Nothing like taking in your first whiff of crisp morning air as you step outside and completely engulf yourself in stringy, sticky webbing. Awesome!!  Followed by the "I'm freakin' out here!" heebie jeebie dance to unravel yourself which becomes totally futile. Awwww, Autumn...I love it!
I'd like to submit to the jury exhibit A
So in honor of this glorious season, I've designed my Make It Monday DT card around this theme.  Here are a couple Country Star Pumpkins from Meljen's that I've colored up in copics and added a few hand drawn ghosties and bitty spider to accent the holiday.  The layout of the card was inspired by this Mojo Monday sketch and finished off with a bit of faux stitching.  If you have something you'd like to share with us, old or new, please stop by and link it up to our latest linky party and you'll be in the drawing to win the prize from our sponsor, Meljen's Designs, of 4 single digis!!
Now the fun part, my...
 PICK OF THE WEEK!
Here is Lorianna's gorgeous vintage card with a stunning image and airbrushed feather.  For more on her card, visit her blog Lorianna's Corner. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
Have a great week everyone!

Bibbity Bobbity Boo!

Challenge #12 Theme - Autumn
Hello, hello, hello!
So glad you could pop in for a visit.  I'd like to introduce you to
I've colored her with Copics of green and blue and vintage stained the edges.  Plopped on some scrap pieces of paper that matched her outfit, punched out a little black fence and glued on a cat that I had in my stash of buttons.  Topped her off with a spooky banner and wa-la an early Autumn/Halloween card is ready for later in the year.
Unbelievably, I did not add a quippy saying on this card, other than Bibbity, Bobbity Boo on the inside.
I know there's lots of challenges out there right now with Christmas themes, but it wouldn't hurt to get a jump on Autumn cards either and we'd love to have you join us for our challenge over at
 With our amazing sponsor

Thanks, as always, for all your comments and encouragement.
I hope you enjoyed the card.
Hugs n' Happy Stampin'....
