Childhood Christmas Memories....

Bumble The Christmas Classic
Milk carton #10
I'm giddy about this milk carton and it's all thanks to
Linda at

If you've been following the production of these little cartons,
you will know that Linda is having the coolest contest called
The 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge.
Here's Linda's  tag o' inspiration for this week...

It's absolutely GORGEOUS and so many new and wonderful elements to choose from.
I was completely drawn into the burlap and the ice skaters.
As you can see, mine looks NOTHING like Linda's and here's why...
I loved the skaters and kept thinking about ice,
ice made me think of Christmas,
Christmas ice made me think of Bumble,
Bumble made me think of the Classic Christmas TV shows.
And there you have it...

The base of the milk carton is inked in Brilliant Blue, Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise, and Taken With Teal for a frozen ice look.
I then poured glue over each section of the carton and placed crumpled pieces of a sandwich bag over it for an even icier appearance.
Taking Glossy Accents, I poured this over the sandwich bag and then sprinkled mica flakes atop that.

The mountains were hand cut and attached with adhesive and topped with white acrylic dimensional and then star dust stickles.

The images are keeping in tune with my love of "vintage" and are downloaded from the internet.

Can't wait to cuddle on the couch and watch these again this year with kiddos!
Check out Linda's challenge at the Funkie Junkie...
There's still plenty of time!

Hugs and Happy stamping...
Lisa xx

Okay, I love your rink tag!!! How vintage feeling and lovely. Your milk carton one reminds me of 'Big Foot' for some reason and I think it is too too cute and fun!

That rocks! Great creativity. And I'm going to show my age here...that was the best Christmas show ever with the best songs:) Of course that was hoping the rabbit ears were picking up the reception on the correct one of the three channels available at the turn of the century!

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, a children's classic for certain. Love this milk carton and what a neat collection to display this holiday season. You're ingenious with your "icy snow" treatment!!
Hugs,
Lisa

INCREDIBLE!!! I don't even know what to say about this one! I think it may be my favorite but I wish I could see all of them IRL side by side! Your snow/ice is sensational, Lisa. And the images - I just started chuckling, was really tickled. You are so incredibly creative and this one is just so fun!

Awesome inspiration - hope it will catch on with some of the others - we seem to be dwindling to you and Sue! Oh well, I'm still having fun and it looks like you are too!

Have a great weekend.

Hugs,
Linda

Hello Lisa
First off I have to admit I have never heard of Mr Bumble!!!!!! Gasp
I googled him and realised that it is a well known Christmas story,to do with Rudolph, of course I know who Rudolph is! But I cannot relate to Bumble (Abominable Snowman)with Rudolph, perhaps I have led a sheltered life! What did interest me however was the paragraph that explains the story........
'The timeless story of Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer communicates the message that often those who are strange or different have the miraculous ability to bring happiness to others.'
Now it may be allegorical that you chose this figure for your inspiration Lisa, not that I am saying you are strange/different, on the contrary, your imagination is marked by independence and creativity in thought, something that only a few have.
Your artistic abilities are so pleasing to the eye, you create a WoW factor every time. Funky, unconventional and Kooky I would describe this piece of work.
But also a delight to behold, well done Lisa for creating a magnum opus.
Smiles:)

LOVE this one too!! I realize that we may not be old enough for this to qualify as vintage, but it is definitely classic! Awesome creativity on the snowy background and I love the side where Bumble has his hand gripping the top of the mountain.
We broke down about 3 years ago and bought the box set of the Rankin/Bass Christmas movies. Love it!
