Helloooooooo!
Wow, what a week it has been. I'm so happy it's Saturday. Now I can go face the insanity at the mall and the overcrowded stores, the parking spot that is located the farthest most point from the store, the screaming children because the last Furby was just sold to someone else...OMGOSH...what was I thinking? I can't wait for MONDAY!
Oh, but there is some fun to be had today and it's happening over at Our Creative Corner. Our very own lovely Liliana aka "Lili" is hosting this weeks challenge and she has determined our theme to be...
Stitching and Fabrics!
Nature and it's natural colors really brought this Christmas themed card to life, starting with the earthy wood grained background. That is not paper, it's actually a piece of cream fabric that I've lightly painted Gesso over and then heat dried. Inking a wood grain embossing folder with Vintage DI, I've run the fabric through the folder and then machine sewn onto the card. The thread was actually white, but a lovely affect happened when I ran a dauber of Vintage DI over the threads. They really popped out nicely. The remainder of the decorations are simple sticks from the yard, hot glued to some greenery and a double bow of red and gingham and the gorgeous male cardinal sitting perched in the snowy mix.
More inspiration can be found amongst my talented teammates at Our Creative Corner so be sure to check out what they've all created with Fabric and Stitching!
We'd love for you to join in the fun.
Until next time,
Hugs n' Happy Stamping...
Lisa xx

Hey Lisa,
The latest card looks great. I love the cardinal. Good luck facing the crazy people out there. I still have to tackle the whole shopping thing and am just dreading the whole experience.
Have a great day.

WOW Lisa, this is so pretty.... I love how the cardinal is peeking out of the greenery. Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my card, I always feel so special after you've visited my blog :-) I just love being on the same DT as you!
What a creative way of texture producing! won't Gesso remain some in the embossing folder?
Gorgeous card Lisa - our state bird is the cardinal and I have several at my feeder everyday. They are so pretty.
HONK! HONK! Watch out for that car -- wow that was a close call. No one in his/her right mind goes out shopping today. Did you see those two ladies fighting over that parking spot????
Happy Holidays Lisa!

Yes the fabric with the Gesso turns out beautifully, if you remember the first time I tried it out I had Gesso all over my Big Shot!!!

Wow... Lisa, the fabric and Gesso worked so perfectly on your creation. The leaves and branches looked so real and fabulous. This is really a gorgeous art work... :)
Wow Lisa, another stunning project! That background with fabric and gesso looks fabulous. The branches, leaves and cardinal are a wonderful focal point.

LOVE this rustic design! Your little cardinal looks fabulous tucked in among the snow covered branches!
I am finally getting back to my computer and attempting to visit everyone again! I got my box of goodies and HOLY CRAPOLA! I am selfishly keeping a lot of the lovelies for myself, but those crocheted snowflakes are begging to be used for something ultra crafty! I hope you and the entire crew had a marvelous Christmas! I am putting the finishing touches on a little something for you. We'll consider it a 'holiday' gift since I missed my Christmas deadline...
